March 24, 200719 yr Tubby going to Minnesota is a very similiar situation to when Curry came here from Alabama. I hope Tubby has more success than him.
March 24, 200719 yr Hey guys, I am back from my hospital scare and stay. First of all I wan to thank everyone for all the prayers and well wishes on the prayers to oldrambler thread. I posted my thank you on that one. Now, Due to no desire or fault of my own being rushed to the hospital this past week and a 4 day touch and go stay all I have to say is that: I leave this site for 4 days and Tubby leaves!!v :scared:  I wish him all the best and I hope that we get a quality coach (I am sure that we will). I will support the new coach as welol and no bashing from here as all the Tb'rs have done. I really hope this doesn't set the program back with players transferring out, Morris is already gone and I hope tha Meeks, Jasper, Porter, Stevenson stay although it would not suprise me if one or more left. I always have and always will be a U.K. Wildcat all the way but now I have a favorite big10 team -the Minnesota Golden Gophers! I am glad that OTS is at a place where he is appreciated and wanted. Imo the Gophers now have one of the top 3-5 coaches in the country. There is NO DOUBT in my mind that OTS will rebuild that program in time. I am very glad that he landed at a placce where he is appreciated and wanted. As for all the bashers/U.K. fans I really hope that this doesn't turn into a "be careful what you wish for" situation. GO BIG BLUE!!!! Go Minesota Golden Gophers!!!
March 25, 200719 yr Here is something I haven't seen said on here before. I have seen where the Tbers have talked alot how Tubby has the longest drought for us ever without going to the final four. However while looking at the banners in Rupp today, I saw there were a couple of time periods where we didn't make it for 9 years. So for Tubby to have the record for longest drought, that would mean he would have had to pass another coach who had the old record, and well I may be wrong here, but wasn't Adolf Rupp one of the guys who had the old record for longest drought in the final four? Yet he is a guy who was a GREAT coach here at UK. Yet Tubby got all kinds of critiscm for now having the longest drought, but no one talked about who had the record before, and they dont think he is bad...:sssh:
