March 19, 200719 yr Let me ask you this. Say Patterson choses UK and ends up never living up to the hype. While at the same time Moses ends up being a stud and a lottery pick. Will UK fans once again say Tubby blew it taking PP over Moses? Maybe. Probably. Who knows? I do know that if Tubby whiffs on the recruiting again this year, this stretch of mediocre basketball will continue for the foreseeable future. Is it possible that Patterson is over-rated and won't help that much? Sure. But, it's almost a certainty that the current product that UK is putting on the court will continue if we get another recruiting class like this year's senior and sophomore classes. Getting a good class is crucial this year to get the ship steered in the right direction, and that has basically come down to Patterson and Lucas. If they go somewhere else, UK is left with what? I'd rather not think about it.
March 19, 200719 yr We are going to disagree that the SEC is one of the toughest conferences this year. Very mediocre season for the SEC out of conference record. Also........the SEC has so many teams that are just that.....mediocre that of course they beat each other up. That is known as mediocrity. Now I will say that I feel that the three left in the tournament are three good if not great teams. But three teams do not make a conference top to bottom. Ask the PAC 10. Look at the SEC West? I mean really they weren't good they were mediocre at best!!!!! As far as the East was concerned..........Fla. Vandy and Tenn. were good Kentucky was good and the rest? Mediocre to bad. Now the SEC I believe over the past ten years has been the best conference in America. This year call it what it is.....average.
March 19, 200719 yr I think that would be four. Two to Florida, one to UNC and one to Kansas. Don't forget two to a #2 seed also, Memphis and UCLA. 1/2 of their losses were to what turned out to be the top 8 teams in the nation. And they had chances to win at least 3 of these games. Their failure to execute and win big games is where this team differs from Tubby's successful seasons. :thumb: :thumb: I agre and that failure to execute was imo partly due to frehman being freshmen. I also believe that U.K. had the #1 rated (toughest) schedule in the country in everyones poll/ratings. I guess that is Tubby's fault also:eek: ....I mean, he should had scheduled a bunch of Podunk U's that you get nothing out of playing for an OOC like a lot of these schools do. Also, These teams on U.K.'s schedule "circle" that game on their calander, U.K. gets everyones best shot. Tubby Smith plays the best teams ooc that he can and imo that is the way it should be.

They aren't the best top to bottom this year, the last 10 years or any other time frame you want to use...

Touche:lol: But still even with the west being weak and yes undeserving of an NCAA bid(Arkansas shouldn't have been in either.) The style of play is still the same and one of the toughest to play against.
