So you're saying that not only did you watch the play/foul happen, you also watched the clock close enough to tell how many tenths should have been left. I'll tell you what Les...You are something special.

You haven't seen Les' eyes. While his left eye looks straight ahead, his right eye wonders wide at a 22 1/2 degree angle. So while you had I wouldn't be capable of this feat Les could do it. It's not too attractive but it works well for looking two places at the same time.

You are very clear on the usual reaction time HDE. The clock does not stop when the timeout was asked for by the player or coach, nor does it stop when the foul was committed.. The clock stops when the ref signals for it to stop. The clock man is to never anticipate a call or stop the clock unless the ref signals. If a referee notices that the clock man's reaction was obviously early or late he can correct the error. I don't think it's ever supposed to be a guess.
You bring up a great point and realistically, a coach could request additional time, after each whistled stoppage, since their is always some leeway, after the Ref stops the play.

This is one reason, what happens at the end of the game, has so much importance placed on it....because it's never considered, during the course of the game, until the last minute or so.

Exactly, that's why it should be obvious before adding or subtracting time. When a ref changes the tenths or deals with less than a second, IMO he's guessing. If you're not going to split hairs in the first quarter, why do it in the last ten seconds?

Wow! So that explains it. Did Les play football? He would have made a great defensive back...He could look the QB and the receiver in the eye at the same time.:thumb:

From listening to all the talk before the game, we didn't have a chance vs Bell. So the game should not have been close at the end. One thing I know for sure is that Bell will not beat us over the next 3 years Bell loses 5 seniors and we lose 1. Coach P should be the coach of the year in the 13th.

First off Corbin shouldnt have beat Bell from a talent/athletic standpoint. I am not taking anything away from Corbin, rather Im giving them a compliment. I think them winning with the youth they had over a team like Bell that was that athletic is a big accomplishment. And it didnt hurt Corbin was at home.

As for the next 3 years, that is a very bold statement. A lot can change in 3 years. For 1 thing Bell started 2 sophomores and a freshman. Also, Bell has a great freshmen class. I am not saying that Bell will beat Corbin, but a lot of different things can happen to effect that in 3 years.

I'm not clear on the rule on this, but just because someone screams timeout with 5 seconds left, for instance, isn't there supposed to be time allowed for the official to then grant the timeout and the clock keeper to then stop the clock.

If someone called timeout with 5:22 left, the official granted it at 5:20 and the clock keeper stopped the clock at 5:19, would this not be the usual reaction time?

That is a very good point HDE. IMO this issue is something that should be addressed in the off season. If you remember when Cumberland played Hazard in the All A state Tournament, they scored a bucket with around 6 or 7 seconds left that got them within 1 and it appeared as though the coaches and one or two players signaled for a TO, but didnt get it until 2.8 left on the clock and there was NO EXTRA time put on the clock for the Skins.

That's the mature way to approach things is to take a dig at someone.

The Warren kid who starts at center. Unless Turner had taken his place in the starting lineup. Its been a few gaems since I have seen Bell play.

Thats who then.Yeah every game I saw Bell played Turner started.

I saw Warren start in one of the Bell games I attended. He's a good player. Bell will still be strong.
