Corbin 66 Bell Co 64 (OT)

Featured Replies

Unbelievable .... Johnson hit the shot from the left side of the corner where Corbin's bench is at and stripped it at the buzzer. This is the best game I've seen since the South Laurel/PRP game two years back.

Johnson and Crawford each scored 20 apiece, while Corbin shot 25-of-58 for the game, but a dismal 10-23 from the charity stripe.

Ryan Whitaker scored 19 points and Bell has a very good team ... very good.

Good win Corbin.

I was really hoping to SL and Bell meet. Bell had a better chance at beating South.

I dsagree with you there. South Laurel IS BETTER than Bell. The Cards are way better coached and would have beaten Bell by at least 10 ... it doesn't matter the game is over and South still has to beat Cumberland.

Does anyone know which of the Whitaker brothers missed the freethrows down the stretch or was it both of them?

Josh Whitaker missed four consecutive free throws at the 1:32 mark and the 1:18 mark.

I think its a no brainer.......When Bell co was fouled to go to the line for 2 free throws....More time ran of the clock then should have! So time was put back on. End of story...:ylsuper:

Exactly . . . Let me assure you there was NO home cookin' of any kind. IF ANYTHING the calls favored Bell most of the evening!

WEEEEEEEEEEEdoggies! The hounds are still alive and kickin'! GREAT WIN!!! See ya tomorrow night!:dancingpa

I really hate that for him, with his brother Ryan being a senior and all. You know they battled their hearts and for it to come down to that really stinks for Josh. Good luck to Ryan where ever he ends up, and good luck to Josh and Eddie for the rest of their careers at Bell.

We'll see. The hounds will be riding on cloud nine! And strange things sometimes happen in March . . . . GO HOUNDS!!!!

There should have been 4.2 seconds put on the clock and they did just that. I was watching the clock when Zachery got fouled and it should have stopped at 4.2 seconds.

Wow. Well probably not that big of a surprise because Corbin is a tournament team. I think this will make it easier for South Laurel for sure. They will make it interesting though.

South has to beat Cumberland first.

Just what I was thinking!:thumb:

Josh Whitaker did miss some big FT's, but he played like a man all night long. If all the Bobcats played as well as he did, Bell Co. would be playing in the finals.

It really came down to Corbin having the last shot...........I really think that Bell would have won if they had the last shot, it was that type of game.

Home Court Advantage?

Yes definitly!!

I was not able to make the trip to the game. The reason why I say this is simply this: When you are at home it gives you an advantage no matter what the refs do or dont do. Now, I am not accusing anyone of cheating in any way. I talked to a friend and he thought too much time was put back up, but its all opinions right now so I don't have a problem with it.

All that being said, Corbin has improved all year long, while I never felt like Bell County reached their potential. The whole Slusher thing did not help any either. Congratulations to Corbin, they have a very good team.

Congratulations to all the boys from Bell. They are an absolutely great group of boys who work hard and deserve credit for that.:thumb:

Bell tried to keep the ball for the last shot, but shot too early, I guess. I was impressed with Josh Whtaker .... really impressed with Goins (who had a thunderous DUNK), but I thought Ryan Whitaker forced things at times, but he's still a very godo player.

I totally understand. One of those games that neither team deserves to lose. Congrats Hounds!!!:thumb:
