Bell Co. vs Corbin predictions

Why even make a statement like this on this thread? I agree with Bubba. But making a statement like this on this thread is redicilous. So what if there is an age difference ... the bottom line is the class and what if Watts played in the 13th District like you stated ... then I can guarantee yoy he wouldn't be playing in the 13th Region ... that's for sure.

In what thread would you prefer that I ask this question? It wasn't meant to take away from the talent of Johnson, Crawford, or anyone else for that fact. It was what is was, a question. I saw the article on Johnson, which I thought was very nice, and the age thing came to mind. I guess it's a personal thing for me. I realize that 90% of the kids are held back but I have a hard time not comparing ages. I'm not whining, Bubba. I can't change the past. Now that I know better, I can do better. Age does make a difference. If it didn't, then why hold back to start with? And as for you, Les, I meant to say the 50th. District. You know what I meant. I had the 13th. on my mind because of the regionals. I wouldn't be so quick to point out everyone elses typos when you could stand to purchase a dictionary yourself.

I tried to dismiss the 13th district statement.....I think we have a parent who is mad about not holding their kid back and wants to look for someway to justify their actions....but Bubba is not a smart man and does not know much.

You are a smart man, Bubba, and thanks for excusing the 13th district statement. We all make mistakes every now and then. You're also right about the parent thing but not about the justifing. I should have held back but like I said before, now that I know better, I can do better.

Crawford is a good player and will play at a level above most.......age is one thing most people accept. Besides most people that play at the College level redshirt their first season at any rate. So that would make them all about the same age in the big picture.

I don't think that the age difference is as noticable at the college level. The difference in the levels of physical and mental ability is greater between a 15 year old and a 18 year old than it is between a 20 year old and a 23 year old. Why do so many people site the fact that the Redhounds age is a liabilty for them when it somes to playing a team such as South Laurel? That's also been an issue in the game predictions in their game against Bell.

So are you saying Corbin's Freshman are older than Bell's senior's?........lol

Maybe me and Shag could give a couple of our hard earned years to some of these middle school kids and they can be the next Ty Profitt or Josh Crawford because they are a year older than anyone else in their grade.....lol

It all boils down to perspective....you either have it or you do not....plain and simple....an extra year could never hurt....if the rules allow it, then wise are those than take advantage.

I think Corbin, CLay, Bell and South can accept losing to someone who out played or was better than them on a given night.....not so sure about others. I would suggest taking this topic to the discussion forum and off the Bell Corbin topic

You are right, Bubba. I don't really know what I'm talking about enough to make a good point or should I say explain my point.

Show a little respect for other people's opinions, Les. You don't have to agree with everyone but you could be more respectful with those you disagree with. Age does make a difference in most things, especially physical and mental maturity, which is very important in sports.

Take the personal jabs, to the pm's. Some of you, seem to be constant in this and it's not needed at all, on BGP.

I know one thing for sure...someone could put together the finest JV Team ever with the talent in the 13th region. If some of these talented young players were blended together, they would surely be THE team to beat in Rupp and leave the Lex Cath's, Scott Co's, and etc in awe! :jump:

????????????? I'm confused. Are we planning on taking a 13th region all star team to Rupp? enter an all star team in a JV tournament? Please explain.

If I am not mistaken the top 3 players at South Laurel were held back at some point also. It seems that most of the best HS players were held back or started to school late.

Does anyone have a prediction on the game or are we going the argue about which kids have been held back a year in school?

Im just saying that one could pick a few of the 13th region JV players, put them in the same school and have one heck of a team. The 3 or 4 schools that Im thinking of combined would be smaller than Scott Co. Its all hypothetical man.

I would agree.

and hmmmmm

I think I will go with Bell on this way by about 15 points.
