Scott County cant wait for a rematch against Central...They would rather play them then Station...IMO

Madison Central will win the 11th again, they will prob beat Scott in the finals by about 20 or so. But if for some reason, Scott county gets some more home cookin at regionals we will just have to tell MR. CLUTCH to step up and soak that net with a 3! AKA Duane Fields. Yeah i think every person in all of Scott county starts shakin in their boots when they hear that name. you better get ready SC.

:lol: Model is a private school and can draw kids from any surrounding area (Richmond, Berea, Lexington, Winchester, etc.) they want to. I can't believe I am having to defend the public schools in the county because it isn't fair that they much larger enrollments.:lol: This is a complete 180 compared to the football public/private debate. Model is funded by EKU, if they want to be more competitive in athletics then increase their numbers.

The whole state, almost (86%) seeds their districts why not the 44th?? Just because Model and Berea know they cant compete BUT they want that money from the regional tourney even if they cant beat anyone in the regions but each other.

 

They have the All A regionals so they need to seed. Southern probably wouldnt beat Catholic either BUt they did beat Berea and Model by abpout 50 and 35 respectively.

Recruiting definitely would help the program at Model, but the administration for years there have frounded upon it. That gets back to the class system. If there was a class system in place the smalls wouldn't have to recruit and the bigs wouldn't get mad when they did. The way the system is set up the smalls must recruit to compete against the odds. This is how Lex Cath got there start years ago. They were a doomat in Lexington until Danny Haney and the administration he worked for (Father Buether) decided that sports would help build the school. So, they recruited the best players they could get (boys and girls). The results are obvious. They did this all under the legal rules of the KHSAA.

Seeding is fair but a class system is even fairer. The KHSAA should become more innovative and quit relyng on the boys state tournament to pay all of the bills.

If Model wanted to increase the size of their student body (for any reason) then they could do so. They could become as big as St. X if they chose to.

You have to have the facilities. I agree that EKU could fund it more but they'll never make it big enough to compete with numbers. The school according to EKU is set up to teach future teachers how to teach not to have athletic teams. Most EKU personnel would like to see Model not exist any more because the funds used for it could be used for the University.

Alumni Coliseum is tough place to shoot.

That freshman guard at EKU doesn't have any problem shooting there. I don't think most kids these days put much stock in "good shooting gym" stuff. They play AAU all over the country in all kinds of gyms. If they go to 5-Star camp they even play outside...

 

I thought EKU's gym was McBrayer Arena...

Both are correct. Alumni Cloesium is the building. McBrayer Arena is the court and bleacher area.
