Hard to believe but the Owls done a wonderful job of controlling the basketball and making plays when needed. Hard to see the Bobcats go this way but those young men who are seniors have had a great career.

I wouldn't say a great career. (61-50) over 4 years, one trip to the regional tournament, one class a regional title, and one district title. No regional tournament wins...

2004- (12-15) lost in opening rd. of district by 10 pts. to Wolfe Co.

2005- (11-16) lost in opening rd. of district by 17 pts. to Owsley Co. (who they had lost to twice by a total of 3 pts. - and Owsley lost their head coach mid-way through the season)

2006- (24-8) won class a region by def. Jackson, Jenkins, Owsley, and Buckhorn (Owsley knocked off 23-6 JBS, and Hazard - eventual region champion was upset by Wolfe Co. by 3) or who knows??? 56th dist. champs and then got drilled by 15 points in the opening round of the region to Leslie Co.

2007- (14-11) lost to Owsley Co., who they had beaten by 23 and 39 pts.

I love it!!!!!!!!!!!! Good job Owls!!!!!!

Listen you have a right to have an opinion, but Owsley did get beat by Lee by 39 in the previous meeting. But, listen a two point win in district is better than a 39 point win in regular season, bottom line is Owsley moves on and Lee goes home. Owsley had something to prove tonight and that was no one I mean no one was going to walk into the "Palace" and beat them. I agree Lee didn't play there best ball but hey when it comes tourney time your either winning or your one and done. Lee goes home on the short end of the stick. It is apparent that Coach Parrett and staff worked tremendously hard on this game and hopefully will put another district title on the infamous palace walls.:dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa

I don't mean any disrespect to your palace or whatever, and i am very happy for you all about your win but Lee did what they did for most of the year...Owsley didn't win this game, Lee lost it. They didn't have any snap on offense what so ever. They made lack luster passes that let owsley's zone reset everytime a pass was made. If they would have been able to reverse the ball quicker that "brilliant" defense would have fell to pieces but they didnt. Because in the back of their minds all they cared about was Saturday night and who they were going to play then. It is really unfortunate for those seven seniors that are not going to play any more but the way that they played tonight there was no way they could have beat anyone.

That is exactly why you have to come and play EVERY night, especially here in the 14th region. Anyone can beat anyone on a given night. But it sure looked like to me that Owsley did WIN, big cat. You can say what you want about if this or if that. Owsley had a game plan and they stuck to it and Lee was out played and out coached last night. Great win for the Owls no matter how you put it! Good luck Owls on Saturday.

One of my favorite quotes and in HS Basketball, anything is possible.

How are you SFS? Better today than yesterday after the Owls victory over my alma mater.

You know exactly what I meant when I said that Lee lost it...you and I and everyone this side of I-64 knows that Lee should have won last night...it was theirs to lose. Owsley played good, probably to the best of their ability and I commend that but I was talking more about Lee's season as a whole and how they were completely apathetic to many of their games. I was trying to make an excuse or anything of that nature, we got beat but I was just stating the reasons why Lee lost.

Anything wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility, it's at the PALACE of the Owls.

The team that deserved to win won. Congratulations Owls.

You are exactly right...both teams got what they deserved....

Congrats Owls! I'm still in disbelief. Good luck to Powell and Estill.

Were the refs a factor in this game or did they let the kids leave everything on the floor and determine who was going to win this one? Which is how it should be in the districts and region. Just wondering, heard they may of been a couple of calls either way that may of went the Owls way.

Like the good old days with Moose. Great win you beat a really good team in Lee i was not there just hope ever thing went well and a good clean hard fought game There has been some great games between Lee and Owsley and seems like ever one gets along good. Was it a good clean played game?

This is probably one of the most unusual big rivalry you will ever see. The game is almost always fought tooth and nail, and the fans are very passionate in their particular rooting interest. However, there is never any trouble, no hard feelings among fans or players. I'll bet almost every Lee County fan will tell you that they are for Owsley from here on out. Go Owls!
