I'm not even going to go through this all again. We have done this in so many threads. Everyone knows where people stand and there reason. I guess we just have to wait it out and see what happens.:thumb:

 

 

Honestly I have no idea where the support comes from. Tubby is a good coach, yet the offense is terrible, the kids are lazy underachievers, we lose like we're Vandy, we don't get great recruits, we are breaking all time loss totals, and I don't see anything getting better.

He says right there we were top 5. It says too that he really liked KY, we were in his top five, the slate was clean, yet we were never in the picture? It was probably Rondo or the Strength coaches fault...... Oh wait.....18% The 18% still think UK is Final Four bound and OTS is about to turn iot around. When PP, JL don't commit and RM heads elsewhere the 18% will say they were part of the problem (Rondo/S&C Coach 2006).

Its not lifetime BUT its a good enough contract that UK would have to go 20-12 for 4 years and not make The Tourney back-to-back years.

What is going to keep him here is because he has a great winning percentage, has won more SEC crowns than most coaches have at UK, and also has the 7th best winning percentage in the NCAA tournament out of active coaches. So THAT is the reason why he will have to have a few years in a row of 20 and 12 to then maybe get fired...

So by your logic -

 

If I were President of UK and we were the top University in the land 10 years ago, my first year on the job, after we were a top 4 University the year before and the top University 2 years before under different leadership but since then Uk had -

 

Dropped to the 7th best University in the SEC

 

Not a top 50 school

 

The top professors had left for better colleges

 

Their replacements got into trouble with the law or were just plain sorry

 

And to solve all this I fired the head custodian

 

Plus I was making over 1 million a year.

Wow I dont know what all that is about...Yeah you want Tubby gone, I get that but just because you want him fired doesn't mean their is justification for it. Yeah we were on top of the world during the 3 year run we had, but now we have a coach who has still put up some of the best numbers in the country. So how exactly can you make any justification to firing him at all. Im sure you probably are one who thinks its Pitinos championship in 98. But in reality it goes to Tubby. So how do you justify firing a coach who has:

 

won a national title

2 overall #1 seeds in the tournament

3 elite 8 appearances

one of the top winning percentages out of coaches

one of the best winning percentages in the NCAA tournament out of active coaches

won more Sec title crowns than most of the coaches who has coached at UK

 

Yeah I know Tubby has set some bad records like most home losses in a year at UK. But stuff like that hasn't happened really till last year. So up until last year he has had the numbers. And he still has the numbers to back him, so until he has a few more years of a row like this, there is no justification in firing him. I admit it may be in the best interest for both parties to go different ways, but when it comes to us firing him that is just not going to happen because there is no justification to back firing a coach who has some of the best numbers out of coaches across the nation...
