Whether he scores 0 points or 40 he's the reason The County is head and shoulders above everyone else in the region. You take him out of that lineup and the whole region is a toss up. That's why Mason better take care of business this season and next because there are no Chris Lofton's or Darius Miller's from what I can tell all the way down to 4th grade. The 10th region should be very exciting for years to come--after next season.

Take Miller out and either Clark or Brossart will be in the State Tournament.That's how important I think he is to his team.:thumb:

There is a reason why the Royals have won so many districts and regional championships over the years. They always seem to have players that come in, grow up and develop over the course of their career.

 

I'm not saying division 1 standouts like Lofton and possibly Miller grow on trees, but if you have enough weapons, you don't necessarily need one great player. Course having a great Division 1 prospect in the line-up doesn't hurt things either. lol

You havent seen the 8th grade team then have you.Just got 3rd place in the 8th grade state tourny and they are dynomite.

After next year there will be at least 6 teams in the region catching up, so to speak. Mason County should always win their district(unless there is another realignment),but the region will be another story

I have seen the 8th grade many times and they are a good team and they will definetly contend as they play through high school but there is no dominator on that team,just really good players. But there is a lot of 10th region teams with up and coming really good players,trust me.

That's what I thought. You know you're getting old when you can (barely) remember playing (well, I mostly sat) recreational league ball with the fathers of these kids, Darren G. and Scott O. (father of Connor, who I guess is a year younger than Jordan - I couldn't remember which one was the 8th grader).

 

The region may indeed tighten up after next year, but the cupboard isn't exactly bare in Maysville.

 

Darius is just one of those rare talents who can do what needs to be done to win a game - score, handle the ball, pass, rebound, play defense. The total package; and like most Mason County fans; I can't wait to see him play during his senior year.

I think the points they're trying to make are that there are no Darius Miller's or Chris Lofton's on these teams--No disgrace to these teams, just facts!! I think Chris & Darius were doing more than finishing third in a KBA event in the eighth grade??

 

Oh yeah--I agree he IS the difference maker on an otherwise very fine team!!

All In do not get too over confident Mason Countys sophmore class won the freshman region last year pretty easily without Russ Middleton. I know that when Darius Miller leaves Mason County wont dominate the 10th but should still be the favorite.
