I would agree and never count out Lewis over Greenup County as the game is being played in Vanceburg. Coach Joe Hampton of Lewis seems to get more out of less more often than not.

I think the 58th district could be interesting- Allen Central is the 1 seed, they play South Floyd @ SF. SF has had double digit leads in second half against AC, maybe they can put an entire 4 quarters together.

54th- Perry Central could be upset by Buckhorn if the Horn comes to play. Will be a battle of the Perry County Schools.

 

55th- Breathitt could be upset by in county rival Jackson City if they don't come to play and under estimate the Bobcats.

 

56th- Lee could run into a buzz saw if they don't come to play at Owsley county. The Owls are at home and Lee county better not under estimate them or they could go home really early!

 

I think that powell co. is the one that is most likely to get upset, if estill co. is hitting the 3 it will be a long night for Livley and his pirate's. JMO;)

Nope - beat Bryan Station pretty handily in the district finals. SC lost on a last second shot to Madison Central in the Region 11 Finals.

Yes, it was a pretty big upset. MC had been having a decent year, but not many really expected them to make it that far - let alone winning the game.

The 11th region tournament is going to be a good one again this year. There are so many teams capable of winning it. Whoever does will have to play well and have some luck along the way.

Other than the SC-HC game, are there any other 1st round games that pit two teams in the top 20?

Is Henry Clay really in the top 20? They haven't seemed that good to me this year.

In the Courier-Journal's lit ratings Henry Clay is ranked 19th in the state. Don't let the Blue Devil's record fool you. They are a heck of a team and have played a very tough schedule.

Johnson Central has a play-in game for the district tournament with Sheldon Clark, but considering they were to win that game, I think they have a legit shot of beating Paintsville, although i dont see it happening.
