February 22, 200719 yr Yes PBS is sold out every week for 8 weeks, now that they are winning. Not enough people in this market able to afford the money needed to support a franchise. I'm with you...there just isn't enough people willing to spend that much money to make a profit of a stretch of forty home games.
February 22, 200719 yr The Cincy metro area is about half the size of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area. I just know that Minny has a population just over 300,000. I just think a team in Cincy could pull from Dayton, Lexington and Louisville and make it ok.
February 22, 200719 yr I think it would be better off in Lexington, or Louisville than Cincy, because it wouldn't be quite as close to the Paces or Cavs. But it would be close enough that the people from Cincy would also make it their favorite team, and same goes with people from Lexington and Louisville, etc... However I dont think it would work in Lexington, or Louisville, I just think it would have a better chance at one of those two places than it would in Cincy...

You have to look at the population in the counties. It's not like the team just draws from within the city limits. Hennepin County, where Minneapolis is located, has 1.2 million people. Ramsey County, where St. Paul is, has 500K people. There's probably another 2 million in the counties that ring those two.
