If only the 9th Region Varsity Finals were done with as much fanfare, and class. The pregame introduction were really neat, and the kids really seemed to enjoy them......

Congrats to longtime CovCath teacher and Tournament Director Mr Jack Kaelin on his outstanding job of running this Tournament. It was a fun week and evening indeed.....

Congrats to both teams. Great game, and fun event, and boy what a loud crowd from both schools.....

I didn't have the privlege of seeing the freshmen Colonels play this year, but I did see the freshmen Raiders.

If CovCath can take the measure of Ryle by 9 and hold them to 34 points, they are indeed a worthy champion.

Congrats to the Colonels and to Jack Kaelin on the finest run freshmen tournament anywhere.:thumb:

Stats

Ryle shot the ball very poorly. Congrats to the Colonels! Fun game indeed.

Wow, I reviewed the stats. Ryle shot an atrocious 27% from 2pt land and even worse from the land of 3. Their FT shooting was 64%. You dont win games with this kind of shooting.

While CCH Frosh burned the nets it seems. Nice victory and championship on their home floor. Congrats.

I didn't think CovCath frosh were supposed to be that good?????? What was their regular season record???

For some reason they always seem to do well in this tournament;) BTW that STAT sheet is pretty nice.

Who made all tournament team from CovCath & Ryle?

Who made all tournament team from CovCath & Ryle?

Mitch, Tate, and Clay made it for Ryle... sorry I don't know last names only first.

I want to say Congrats to Jerry Herron on his first season as Ryle's head coach. He is a great guy and a very good basketball coach... Ryle is lucky to have him.

I hope by using the you aren't saying that Mr. Kaelin does anything to help CovCath win. He puts in a tremendous amount of hours each and every year to put on a first class tournament for the Frosh and if you have attended any of the games, they are indeed done first class regardless of whether CovCath is playing or not.

Yes they are nice, and lets you get a feel for what happened.....

Congrats to CCH on the win last night. They came ready to play and lit up the nets. In the second half they shot 75% while Ryle shot 27%. No reason for Ryle to hang their heads they played hard but sometimes shots just don't fall.

Coach Herron did a great job this season leading the Raiders to a 19-5 record. Many of these kids played together at Gray Middle School where they acheived a record of 67-12 over three years. Coach Herron really got these boys to gel together as a team. The future certainly looks bright for Coach Mullins and the Raiders.
