5A Bowling Green (2-4) at 5A Warren Central (1-5)

I show my age in this thread, as this was "THE Rivalry' I experienced growing up - Bowling Green vs Warren Central.  It was "The Game' and meant everything in town at that time.  And now that I have more grey hair than I want, I have a respectful place in my mind for the Dragons for those old battles back in the day.  But those days are gone. 

Warren Central Dragons Information - (TP94 Rating:  20.59)

The Dragons have talented players and that starts with their SR QB LaTavyon Dunn who was 6 for 13 for 200 yards 2 TDs vs 1 INT in a close match vs Franklin Simpson (falling 28-20).  Dunn also ran the ball for 30 yards in this game.   attempts on the year with 901 yards with 9 TDs vs only 1 INT (No Greenwood stats included here or below).  JR Derwin Carver had 7 carries for 50 yards for the Dragons in that Franklin game.  The top pass receiver is SR RaMaun North with 6 receptions for 125 yards and 2 TDs for this game.

Defensively, Central is led by JR Jonah Chatman who had 12 tackles vs Franklin Simpson.

Bowling Green Purples Information - (TP94 Rating: 61.53)

In the past 2 seasons, BG is 1-10 in non-district games losing by a combined score of BG 137 vs Opponent 401 or roughly 36-12 loss.  In the RPI world, that is unsustainable.  Hosting playoff games matters and seeking that advantage is important.

Last week, Bowling Green fell to CAL by a score of 70-21.  BG was defeated by Paducah Tilghman 70-0 in 1969; the only other time anyone scored that many points on BG ever was 57 years ago. These past two seasons have brought decades old records into the picture.

Game Preview

For Warren Central, just go for it; you have nothing to lose.

For BG, you have to wonder where the players confidence is at this stage of the season.

BG is the better team on paper, but we will see.

Who wins this old rivalry and why?

While it pains me a little to do so, I'm picking WC for the upset win.

Hard to even read these facts of the current state of the program. Again, about 19 games ago we were back to back 5A state champs.

We have to pull out of this defensive craziness. It's not even a slump. It's broken.

BG could still play their JV guys and beat this team. BG sends the revenge from last night and wins 56-7.

As in they'll win a quarter? Surely you don't mean the game?
