I think the stuff about the Mall and a bunch of other places in Florence is either false or highly exaggerated.  I did see some wind damage around Florence (minor) and part of the signage on a Dream Street building was damaged but it looked minor too.  Beyond that Facebook can't produce any pictures, just wash, rinse, and repeat. 

Some Youtube weather guy was using his comments as "sourcing" and once he said the Mall (and some other places in Florence got hit) Facebook lit up with some of the dumbest people on the planet repeating it all.

Looks like roof damage to Dave & Busters and a couple businesses on Dream Street (hotel and the carpet/mattress place) per the pics coming out this morning.   I saw some pics of a tornado floating around social media this morning that they claimed moved through Boone County, but a tornado that size would have been picked up on radar and would have been confirmed last night during the storm.

All watches have been canceled.

...Preliminary Storm Survey scheduled for today for Florence in 
Boone County Kentucky, near Aurora in Dearborn County Indiana, 
and also in eastern Franklin County Indiana...

The National Weather Service office in Wilmington OH will conduct
a storm survey this morning through this afternoon for the area 
near Florence in Boone County Kentucky, as well as near Aurora in 
Dearborn County Indiana, and near and east of Cedar Grove in
Franklin County Indiana. The survey is in relation to the severe 
thunderstorms that moved through the area early this morning. 

We don't anticipate any preliminary determinations until at least
mid to late this afternoon, but will issue a follow up preliminary
damage assessment via a Public Information Statement later this
afternoon.

John Murawski - I somehow managed to capture the picture of a lifetime. Our local Florence Knight managed to do battle with the tornado before it could destroy the water tower, and banish it back into the nether realm. Thank you, sir!

If I was a tornado and I seen these false allegations that I destroyed multiple building I would definitely come back to hit your house personally!

Beloved Florence Y’all Water Tower Update:

The recent power outage in the Mall Road area resulted in an overflow event at the Florence Y’ALL water tower. During normal operations, Greater Cincinnati Water Works was actively filling the tower; however, due to the loss of electrical power at the site, the pumps were unable to move water through the system, leading to the overflow condition.

The water observed discharging from the tower is a normal and expected response under these circumstances and indicates that the system is functioning as designed to prevent damage.

At this time, power has not yet been restored to the Mall Road area, and the tower remains without electricity. Greater Cincinnati Water Works has implemented operational adjustments to pump around the tower, and there is no impact to water service or supply for customers.

An electrician has inspected all pumps and associated equipment for potential water damage. No damage to the pumps was identified. Minor repairs are currently underway, including the replacement of select components within an electrical panel.

Once electrical service is restored and repairs are complete, the Florence Y’ALL water tower will return to normal operation.
