ColonelMike Posted June 5 Posted June 5 I'm baaaaaaack! SO SORRY to have been away the last couple of years/seasons!! Serving as the executor of my parents' estate turned into a multi-year, 7-day-a-week job. Combined with my real job, and some pesky health issues, I was pretty much out of action for everything else. Now....the estate is almost completely resolved, I'm semi-retired from Blue & Co., LLC (working 3 days a way; full retirement is looming at January 31, 2027), and - well - the health issues are still there, but they are manageable. I've missed you guys.....hopefully, I'm going to find that many familiar names are still in BGPreps country. Meanwhile.... The PEGASUS SPORTS NETWORK is also BACK! PSN will broadcast each and every Oldham County football game in 2026, home and away! For football fans, you'll be pleased with all the changes to the broadcasts, including a 4-camera setup, instant replays, etc. Having a 6-man crew means I'll be able to concentrate on play by play only instead of having to produce the broadcast at the same time. Former North Oldham coach Jamie Brown returns as the color commentator. Looking forward to seeing Coach Jamie Reed's second Oldham County team. His first went 6-5, but I know that won't be enough for Reed. He'll be looking for improvement in 2026, which may be a challenge with what might be a team depending a lot on some youngsters. Much more to come on that.... CM 6

Four camera operation, with replays, some exciting new graphics and effects......for the first time, PSN will have a dedicated producer of the show, instead of having me trying to produce everything while I'm announcing.... It'll be like nothing OC Football has ever had before.... And - as always - only announcers with extensive experience in Oldham County sports. I've been announcing OC sports since 1979 (and following OC sports since 1976), and color commentator Jamie Brown is a former North Oldham coach and current administrator in the school system. All the substitute announcers will have Oldham County experience. So the commentators will be able to talk about football in the county from experience. CM 1

Looking forward to checking Pegasus out this year.

I was afraid the winged horse had gone extinct. Thanks so much for the kind words, DMC! Seeing replies like yours makes my day... Not quite extinct....I worried when I had to step aside for the last two years that maybe nobody would care (that Pegasus was gone) and that maybe "that was it." But I am so excited to be back, and so happy to bring a much more improved product to the air. Our old production was decent, but extremely simple as I was announcer/producer/director all in one.....now we have a dedicated producer, more cameramen, better software and graphics.... I am hoping everyone will like the new, Pegasus 2.0! If you get a chance, come by the press box and say "hi!" CM 4
CoachJ Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Great to have our sport broadcast whenever it can happen — I grew up very spoiled in Corbin where our games were shown on tape delay every Sunday night and the play-by-play and color were done by men who loved the program and really got to know the players—that means a lot more. Oldham County is lucky—and has been for about 40 years — to have this kind of person in Mike Montgomery. I never took him for granted one day back when I was at THE Oldham County HS. 2
Rebelstat Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Glad to hear you are back ColonelMike and can't wait to hear what you have to say about the Colonel's. I do know a little about the Colonels as I have a nephew that plays for the Colonel's. I talk to his mom and dad all the time and did get to go see him play a couple of game last year.
DevilMayCare Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Came across this up and coming linebacker earlier today. A player to watch this year and beyond... Jess Officer is 6'2" with a growing list of FBS offers that includes Penn State, Indiana, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, and now, Louisville.
