?? Per MaxPreps, the Colonels (9-1, KY #3) will face Sarasota Booker in Monday's 6:15 semifinal. The Tornadoes downed Tampa Gaither today 47-45 in their Round 1 contest.

That makes for the 3rd time in program history that Cov Cath has had more than one triple-digit offensive performance in a single season. The 68 point win is also in a three-way tie for second place when it comes to largest margin of victory for the basketball program.

☕️ Game notes ~

The Colonels opened the game with a McGillis 3, on the way to a 14-0 blitz. Myrick closed out Q1 scoring with three consecutive 3s.

More of the same in Q2, with CCH subbing liberally. "2nd Five" went in as a unit at the midpoint and went on a 14-7 run, with Gaiser, Brecount, Bode, and Courtney on the tally.

A running clock to start Q3 and subs closed out all scoring in Q4.

A substantial number of Colonels' points were scored on fast breaks off of steals and unforced turnovers by the Hurricanes. Relentless defensive and rebounding efforts by CCH, hot shooting, and a deep bench advantage - Manatee was simply overmatched. Gibson and Brown had nice games, but without much help from teammates in scoring, skill, or intensity.

@Tigerpride94 is correct. The Hurricanes were not much of a challenge. Their Massey Rating would put them at #188 of 291 teams in Kentucky. 

Having watched both games, I think St. Joseph - the team CCH also scored 100 on, would have beaten Manatee.

Good news is that a lot of guys saw substantial minutes on the court.

Still haven't seen this one show up reported on the KHSAA. I wonder what the deal is with that.
