Channel 5 just reported that the Brown family quietly extended Taylor through the 2027 season after the playoff loss to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game.  Truly an example that the Bengals are Mike Brown’s private team and he runs it his way and he reveals what he wants, when he wants.

I don't know how detailed Channel 5 was with their report but when I first read what you posted I assumed this was a recent extension but Google says otherwise:

While you are probably correct, as the Bengals don’t like to fire coaches with multiple years left on contract. The title for this thread is misleading, as that extension was 3 years ago when the team was doing good. Ownership has not said anything yet about Taylor being safe after missing playoffs 3 straight years. Right now it is just speculation based off the Browns previous history, that they wouldn’t move on from a coach with multiple years left. 

Sad, it's over. No culture with them right now.

Sorry, thought the title was spot on.  While the contract extension was three years ago, its’ existence was a recent revelation according to Channel 5.  Fellow BGP posters on other threads had indicated that Taylor only had 2026 left on his contract.  Thought clarity on the contract would lead most of us familiar with Mike Brown’s historical tendencies to the same conclusion….Zac Taylor not going anywhere.

As I said that most likely is true, based off Mike Brown's history of not firing coaches with years left on a contract. With that said, in the past also Mike Brown after the season has came out to say a coach is going to be back when there has been speculation of a coach maybe being fired. So until that happens, the thread title is misleading or at least not 100% true yet.

The Bengals will never win a Super Bowl while the Brown family owns the team.

They have been to 3 Super Bowls. Hard to say never when they have been there 3 times and lost by a total of 12 points combined all three games. They are just a play or two away from winning all three of those.

There are 13 NFL teams that have been to fewer than 3 including the Ravens, Bucs and Chargers. They are tied with the Seahawks at 3 appearances.

On ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown they did a segment called safe or out about coaches rumored to be on the hot seat.

When it came to Zac Taylor and ESPN's Adam Schefter says he is safe. The two names he said that he has been told is for sure out is Pete Carroll at LV and Cleveland Kevin Stefanski.
