Big game from Marlon Harbin tonight. 2 TD receptions and an interception on defense. The  Tigers outscored Male 21-0 in the 2nd half. The Tigers will now host Trinity next Friday.

How does X get to host Trinity? I'm confused, which is common.

St. X only played one out of state opponent (Elder) while Trinity played three out of state opponents (Moeller, Carmel, and Cincy St. X). Out of state opponents punish you when it comes to RPI. RPI determines playoff seeding for the 3rd and 4th rounds of the playoffs. Since St. X was punished less for playing out of state opponents, they ended up with a slightly better RPI and earned hosting rights over Trinity for the playoffs.

Because St. X ranked higher in RPI. Trinity was hurt by the out of state teams that count as .500 in RPI.

That's what I thought, but wasn't sure. Thank you.

Congrats to St X on the win. Male sure kicked it into playoff mode the last few weeks. Good coaching drives that type of turnaround.
