One of the strangest stories in quite possibly the history of recruiting has come to an end.

After much drama and three different commitments in one month, the nation's No. 1 safety – Jerimy Finch – has stayed true to the reports from last night and has signed with Florida, this morning during a press conference at his Warren Central high school.

As the original report suggested last night, the rich (Florida) keep getting richer. Finch's commit to Urban Meyer comes after the Gators picked up a verbal from five-star defensive end Carlos Dunlap. UF now also has the two top-ranked safeties in the nation in Finch and Major Wright.

Finch's recruitment was certainly a saga for the ages. He originally made the Hoosier faithful's wildest dreams a reality early last month when he de-committed from Michigan and in turn gave his pledge to Hoeppner after a successful visit to Bloomington.

However, he still flirted a bit with the Wolverines coaching staff, and he also visited Gainesville late last month. Then, there were the events of last night when he was quoted as saying that he'd had a talk with the Gator coaches and had informed them they would be receiving his letter of intent – effectively de-committing from Indiana about 12 hours before signing day. Later on that night, reports were surfacing that he was still in fact wavering between the two schools.

Finch's newfound presence in the Gator class cements the group as one of nation's top group in 2007.

How sad....

Will the other Warren Central Hoosier recruits still go to IU or is it a Gator package deal?
the other three showed up at the press conference in full IU attire and signed on the dotted line, just like they committed to do.

Finch committed to UM, then IU then in the last three days to Fla. what a joke.
