Owensboro 62 Marshall County 7

Hampton had around 170 on about 7 carries.  O scored at will.

Hard to tell because of who they’re facing but the Devils are in peak form at the right time. Going to be a tough out for anybody come playoffs. Oline is getting better every game. Defense is doing there part at every level. As far as the skill players go on offense. I can’t remember a time in Devils history where they had a better line up at the wide receiver position, along with a top tier all time running back and efficient QB. This has to be the best offense in 5A.

I think we are peaking at the right time. Need to really keep our focus against Muhlenberg Co. too. I really like what we are doing and our game against Madisonville is going to be a great match-up. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens to Apollo and Madisonville next week. If Apollo can get the upset they can lock in #2 seed if we beat Madisonville.

Hampton ran for 169 and 3 TD’s - on single digit carries.

Ganaway was 6 for 8 for 152  and 2TD’s.

Dillard 3 catches for 2 TD’s and 116 yards.

Kalil shemwell a punt return TD, and Khalil Shemwell a receiving TD from Beehn - great ball thrown deep.

Tee Green #2 back with 1 carry for 71 and a TD.

Eli Hampton MLB with a pick six as well.

Basham - Freshman RB had a 25 yard TD run called back - I’m guessing @theguru was refereeing  to throw that late flag because it would have put them to 69 points.

69 is the line, you can't go over, or put another way, 69 is okay! ?

That’s right - but our freshman coach might have went for 2 instead of a PAT kick.

To be clear no way he would do that.

I think bye week for O next week then Muhlenburg, Madisonville and Henderson to close it out.

Red Devils have improved a lot but the softening of the schedule has helped a ton! Anxious to see this Madisonville game. I wish we ended the regular season with like a South Warren, Franklin Co., Boyle Co., Manual, etc. instead of Henderson.

Soft? Did you see who we played Week 1 and 2? Your crazy. I think the schedule is perfect. I like what Demcarcus has done to our schedule.

I think @Ordell was just referring to then end of our schedule because our district is pretty weak outside of a team or 2. So it would have been nice to replace Hendo with a higher caliber squad before we hit the playoffs.

I was upset in 2020 when we cancelled the Henderson game and played Breck Co instead. Henderson Co is a huge rivalry game and one of the oldest in the state.

Exactly what I meant. Our district outside of Madisonville is terrible this year. I know OHS has improved but it’s hard to really get a clear picture because everyone we’ve played since CAL, outside of Catholic, has been pretty weak. Henderson, while being a long time rival, hasn’t beaten us in like 10 years. And most of the games in that streak have been blow outs. I’m all for dropping that game.

I've mentioned swapping Hendo before and it is ALWAYS met with its an old rival and important.

I get that and agree for the most part, plus it's a great RPI game for Owensboro.  BUT there is nothing that says you have to keep it Week 10.  Switch CAL or somebody else and Hendo or switch the week you play them.  Just an idea.
