I think "The County" is putting up atleast 28. Just don't know what the Juggs got in them. A couple key components come to play in this one.

Malachi has been in the system. Last year he accounted for over 1700 yards on a subpar team. This year he’s put his team on his back on numerous occasions so far. Likely to play on the defensive side of the ball at the next level.

So a couple key components in this game to me.

Can "The County" stop the Juggs run game? Tomlinson and Conrad have been plus yardage kings all season behind a starting O-line consisting of #59 Brandon Carter, #75 David Dobbs, #62 Trevor Larison, #56 Stone Eickhoff and #57 Aidan Dolan. If I'm not mistaken, there is not one senior in that group and they have been doing very well at their job. Lloyd will need that group to maintain that while keeping Evans jersey clean so that the Jimbo Kidd down marker keeps moving forward and not backwards. There really hasn't been a team all year to make the Juggs fall behind on the chains consistently and Bourbon has to know that will be a big factor in this one. Bourbon knows they cannot let Evans and the alien Barger connect on big plays of 40 yards or more. How do they stop both? It starts with the hogs up front for both teams.

I have been a pretty tough critic on this Lloyd defense majority of the year. But what has probably been missed by most is that I have also commended them on what they have done well. Which is dominate in the box/trenches. Aiken's Underwood has been the most dynamic QB the Juggs have seen so far this year but Miles, Buck-Barber, Montgomery, and Anthrop are all mobile QB's that the Juggs also held in check on the ground. No one has been able to run the ball on them thus far. By defensive scheme, Lloyd's #7 D. Peterson has been a huge factor in that. I have been pretty tough on the young kid but he has been "close" to outstanding. He has "almost" single handedly taken away the middle of the field all year and it looks like they design it that way.

But this Rennie kid is just different though and Bourbon has schemes of their own. I think Rennie is a perfect mixture of all of the above mentioned QB's. Does the Peterson kid really have that dawg mentality that it takes to man up with a stud like him for a full 4 quarters? That I don't know. And it will be interesting to see.  Peterson will need to get stronger as the game goes on and not wind down mentally or physically. A tall task for a youngin. A matchup of a very talented, seasoned, senior QB vs a young sophomore MLB could be leaning in Bourbon's favor. I just don't know if the Peterson kid is really like that yet, maybe in a few years he can hang with the big dawgs. 

At this point in the year it's a given that Lloyd's going to give up some big plays through the air. That's different for a team that has had some lock down DB's over the years. They have been able to overcome that so far this year to remain undefeated but that still has to be an area of concern for the Juggs long term goals. Bourbon likes to throw the ball around and take many shots down the field and I don't see that being any different this week especially with a coach like Rice who will look to exploit whatever he can to the fullest. 

I noticed Lloyd tinkered with the corners against Campbell County. Working on a solution? Or was it just that #12 Griffin got banged up and they really didn't have a choice but to see if they had anything else that could help them? Either way I think they may have seen they got a diamond in the rough. Will they clean it up and get the most value out if it though? I am leaning towards that being a no. With the way Lloyd has been playing in the box their defense can be lethal if they can consistently make plays on the ball in the back end but they need to be solid as a whole unit.

Still can't decide who I am taking in this one. 

2 great coaching staffs. 2 teams with tons of talent. 2 teams that play hard. 2 teams that have played cupcakes according to @theguru lol.

Which coaching staff can get the most out of their team?

Man, I am hoping Lloyd does some real damage this year and has a great season. Hard not to pull for these guys.

Coach Rice and staff have went up “On The Hill” and changed the culture quickly…These Seniors haven’t won as many games in 3 years as they have this year…Lloyd Memorial since day 1 has been the team to beat in the district for the Colonels…Lloyd comes in to this matchup avg about 43 pts and giving up 19. Bourbon averages 36 pts all while surrendering 13. Lloyd looks like a well oiled machine but they haven’t faced a team w this much speed and talent…Aiken had athletes but not enough…The key to the game will be up front. Whoever wins the line of scrimmage wins the game?

"IF" Bourbon has more speed and athletes than Aiken then they will beat Lloyd by 14 as long as they can catch a deep ball. Which I have seen they can do. BUT saying they have more speed and athletes then Aiken is saying a whole lot. Like a whole lot. I have watched both on film against about the same level of competition and I am not going to say they have more then Aiken at the skill positions, I won't say they have less than them either though. Aiken doesn't have enough in the trenches.

I checked the roster for Paris the last two years and I did not see his name on there. Does anyone know where he played at the last couple years?

I am surprised he just popped up on my radar this year. He has done some good individual things over his time at Bourbon. Kids on not so good teams don't get talked about as much as they should. Glad to see he is reaping some of the benefits of his hard work.

The word of the week that stood out to me was....discipline. Lloyd is full of juniors and sophomores that are key contributors in their success this year. Usually discipline doesn't always fall in the same sentence with underclassmen but I don't think that's the case here. I think their seniors this year and the graduates from the last couple classes have laid a great foundation for them and that discipline is a big part of that. 

Not saying that Bourbon is undiscipline so don't start the scolding on me for that. But these Juggs know what winning looks like and I think they have bought into what it takes to maintain it and they want it. I don't think winning is manageable consistently over years without discipline.
