    Elvis Presley was still alive and was getting ready for his final concert tour at the start of Coach Krumps' first season as head baseball coach at Cov Cath.

    Great guy, great coach.   Never played for him but he was my biology teacher.

    My fondest memory of Coach Krumps has always been sitting in Mr. Haders' art room at the old CovCath building. Looking out over the football field and seeing coach on the riding mower cutting the grass. It was like his moment of Zen.

    Enjoy your you time Krumps.  No one deserves it more.

    It's crazy how long he has been coaching at Covington Catholic. I'm 55 years old, retired from coaching and didn't start playing organized baseball until the year AFTER he started coaching. I simply can't fathom doing one job (especially coaching high school sports) that long.

    Heck of a career he had. It was time for him to hang it up, pass the reigns onto the next generation and enjoy retirement and his family.
