Quite the star-studded leaderboard after round 2.  I was really hoping that Langer could hang on and make the cut, but he faltered down the stretch.  No amateurs advanced to the weekend.

  • One of my most favorite weekends of the year.  I can't wait for tomorrow.

  • I think DeChambeau is done.  Just as I was about to say he needs to be spectacular on the par 5s.

Brilliant shot by Rory on his second at the 15th.

Rory with a quick start today going 4 under in 3 holes to jump to a lead.

Rory just eagled 15 to take a 4 shot lead at -12 over Conners and 5 shots ahead of DeChambeau.

DeChambeau drops in a bomb of a putt on 18 to cut it to 2 strokes.

Final pairing tomorrow is set, Rory (-12) Bryson (-10).

For those of us that play a ton of golf, we can really appreciate just how exceptional the skill levels these guys display.  I play regularly with a guy that is the best driver, best iron player, and best putter I have personally ever played with.  Has a plus 5 handicap and yet he cannot get through a Champions Tour Qualifier.  I point this out to support how really good the old guys are and yet these young bucks are playing courses a 1,000 yarder longer, truly treacherous pin placements and greens rolling a 14 on the stempmeter.  Unless you saw these PGA pros in person, it is hard to imagine just how good they are.  Go Rory, it’s time!

All I'm seeing today is everyone talking about Rory choking today. I think he plays well enough to win today (2 to 3 under) and will only lose if Bryson or someone else goes crazy low today.

Rory double bogeys the 1st hole. He's tied with Bryson at -10, with Aberg and Conners 3 back at -7.

Bryson going to bogey the 3rd, Rory with a Birdie to take lead back at -11.

Rory with a big drive then up and down for birdie.

Bryson laid up short, got on in two then 3 putted.

Rory with an iron off the tee to about 12 feet on the 4th.

Bryson iron off the back left of the green. Rory with the chance to grab another stroke right here.

Just like that Rory is back up 3 strokes at -12 after 4 holes.

If Aberg could get a birdie putt to fall he'd be in 2nd.

Rory in the trees off the tee and Bryson striped the drive right down the middle the on 5th.

Rory in the trees off the tee and Bryson striped the drive right down the middle the on 5th.

Rory escapes tree jail and is just off of the green. Bryson drops an iron about 12-15 feet from pin.

Could be another 2 shot swing...

Rory with a 5 footer to get up and down left.

Bryson putt for birdie is wide right.
