Final Congrats to the Lady Valkyries on the 5th state championship. Also, congratulations to the Lady Cards on another great season. Sacred Heart has only lost 3 games to instate opponents since the 2022 season. That is an impressive run.

The 2025 Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Girls’ Basketball Sweet 16® concluded on Saturday inside Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center in Lexington.

 

Sacred Heart earned its fifth consecutive state championship and ninth overall title in school history.

Clark County had a 3 point lead and the ball with about 1:20 left in the game but too many turnovers such as 10 second calls and errant passes allowed Sacred Heart to defeat them in the end. I think they made four turnovers within a minute span that cost them dearly. 
Zakiyah Johnson made a huge 3 and a driving shot in the lane to help them regain the lead in the closing seconds.

Right and I hate to say it but GRC self-destructed at the end.
