February 2, 200719 yr Behind Bobby Perry? Perry can't hold Wright's jock.... Wright would be the best player on UK's team hands down... and yes that means better than Morris See the ? He was being sarcastic. Chill...
February 2, 200719 yr Here are mine in order: 1. Kevin Durant - Texas 2. Greg Oden - Ohio State 3. Chase Budinger - Arizona 4. Brendan Wright - UNC 5. Spencer Hawes - Washington This is a great freshman class with a lot of great college ballplayers...I'm interested to see what everyone elses top 5 is. Nice group of players... I might throw in D.J Augustine from Texas in the last spot instead of Hawes.

February 2, 200719 yr Author The only thing I may change on that list is I may put Crittenden at #5 rather than Hawes. There are so many great freshmen this year though! It's tough isn't it? You've got Crittenden, Ty Lawson, Thaddeus Young, Wayne Ellington, Jon Scheyer, Mike Conley Jr., and so many more. Personally, I like Budinger's game. It seems like he gets his points within the flow of the game and it's somewhat unnoticed. Maybe he should be a little more agressive, but that should come with maturity. But I could see anyone ranking him anywhere from 3-5.
February 2, 200719 yr Author Not to threadjack my own thread, but do any of you think that on some other teams Jodie Meeks would be more of an impact player? Maybe not top 5, but top 10. It just seems to me that over the years freshman at UK have trouble playing up to their potential in their first season, while some lower rated incoming seniors have more of an impact as freshman. Then again, maybe that's just me.

February 2, 200719 yr Author I don't think he could have gone anywhere and been better than a "best of the rest" guy in this class. Very good player, but this class is LOADED... OK...that answers part of the question. How 'bout the rest? I assume you are saying he could have been more of an impact player at another school, but what about the fact that in recent years highly rated freshmen have struggled at UK while others have flourished elsewhere? Is it the system or the level of talent by those "elsewhere"?
February 2, 200719 yr How many of these guys mentioned are back in the college ranks next season?? I say very few, if any.

Out of my Top 5 I say Budinger and Hawes are closer to 2 & done rather than 1 and done. Both need to work on the physical aspect of the game...it wouldn't hurt Wright either.
