Just four rankings this week, as Bluegrass Scoreboard hasn't posted any.

*Another week, another consensus #1 for St. X, ranked tops in all polls and with all first place votes.  However, unlike previous weeks, we don't have a consensus at #2 & #3, as KSR moved Frederick Douglass ahead of Great Crossing.  Frederick Douglass had a strong week, with wins over Bryan Station and Manual - still, it was surprising to see Great Crossing dropped, when St. X remains the only team in the state to beat them.  And Great Crossing has a win over Frederick Douglass as well, that coming in December.

*For the first time this year, Marshall County is a consensus top 5 team, as Kentucky High School Sports Zone finally relents, and moves the Marshals all the way up to #4.  Only Nations Elite didn't have Marshall County at #4, elevating Bryan Station over them.

*In addition to those four teams, Bryan Station and Hazard were consensus top ten teams.  Green County was there in three polls, but not Kentucky High School Zone, who inexplicably had them 22.

*Speaking of inexplicable, Boyd County was rated in only one poll, that of Kentucky High School Sports Zone.  They were rated NINTH.  No slight to Boyd County, but they're 14-8, no other poll ranks them, and only Nations Elite even has them in a "receiving votes" category - they were ranked 40th.

*Some other KYHSZ specials - Adair County at #5, with others ranking 12, 18, 24.  Ashland at 12, with others ranking 22, 24, 25.  Butler totally unranked, while no other ranking had them lower than 16th.  It's just weird.

*There were six unicorns this week (a team that was rated by only a single outlet).  Boyd County has already been discussed.  They were joined by PRP (KSR #15, a very high rank for a single outlet that would really stand out if not for that Boyd ranking), North Bullitt (Media 22), South Oldham (NE 23), Dixie Heights (Media 24), and Lexington Catholic (25).

*20 teams were consensus rated (up from 14 last week):

St. Xavier
Great Crossing
Frederick Douglass
Marshall County
Bryan Station
Hazard
Danville Christian
Manual
George Rogers Clark
Green County
Warren Central
Adair County
Calloway County
Bowling Green
Clinton County
Covington Catholic
Cooper
Woodford County
Ashland
Trinity

Dixie Heights...... yea that's interesting for us up here in nky. At least me.

I don't really understand how Woodford is still in so many different state rankings they are now 11-8 and have lost 3 of their last 6. They also have lost 3 of the 4 district games.

Dixie anywhere near the top 25 is comical the 9th region has 6-7 teams I'd put ahead of them.

I was about to comment the same. They aren't even considered a threat to win the region, yet they are still ranked in the top 25. At some point, it is not all about the level of talent you have on the roster...

I think Montgomery County is a transformed team since guard Cayden Reed became eligible in late January. He sat out a year and became automatically eligible after January 26, I think that’s the date. He makes a huge difference for them. An example is a month ago GRC defeated the Indians by 27 in Winchester. GRC won a few nights ago in Mt Sterling but it took them triple overtime to do it. MoCo has size and shooters but they lacked a facilitator. They are a nice boat but needed a rudder. Their record is 12-9 but they have lost six games by 1 to 3 points, games that could have gone either way and probably would have been MoCo wins if Reed had been playing. I think the team they have now would probably compete and possibly win against several of the teams on this list.

Hazard still in top 10 amazes me, I really just don’t understand how!
