Tarter is an absolute stud on the football field. Do you know if that 4.5 forty yard dash is an official time he recorded at a college camp, or an unofficial time he may have ran that was recorded at Bracken? If that time is official, then it is surprising he hasn’t gotten any offers. Unless he hasn’t really been going to camps. As Tyler Fryman of Beechwood for an offer form Louisville on the spot once he ran a 4.5 forty. So I would think Tarter would at least be getting some smaller school offers with a time like that, if he has been out there getting to camps and running that time.

His official camp time is 4.59 but unofficial practice time is 4.50.

  • I like what Bracken County has done here. A bid of a hybrid schedule: not a great district, but one great team; a couple of winnable non-district games and a couple that they'll be underdogs; one game

Jackson Whitten (2026) has been the quarterback the last two seasons and split time with Greg Benedict at QB.  Whitten’s size gained the last year has him moving to OL/DL.  His Twitter has him at 6’3,

Bracken County does not have turf and has the worst field and stadium in the state.  If Pendleton County and Nicholas County school districts can make turf happen, I feel like Bracken County could if they made football a priority.  Similar area and tax base.  It would be different if the grass were nice, but it's like a cow pasture. If you are standing on one sideline, you can't see below the knees of anyone on the other sideline because of the giant crown in the middle.

They did build a new concession stand opening this season. But that's only because the old concession stand was a single-wide trailer that was about to fall over the hill.

Lights leave a lot to be desired and a little upgrade of PA system would help.

The lights are from 1999.  It definitely gets dark and makes it difficult for me to take photos.  I believe they just raised property taxes to renovate Taylor Elementary, but hopefully, there will be some money left.  The locker room is also pretty sub-par. Here are some photos I took with my drone around 2021.

Was it my imagination, but I thought the baseball field was exceptionally well maintained.

Yes it is.  But left field is falling over the hill.  It has the same crown problem as the football field.  It also only has 300 foot fences.

My point being, aren’t the same school maintenance personnel taking care of both fields?  Is the baseball facility more important than maintaining the football field comparably?

School maintenance only mows the grass for both fields.  The problem with the football field is that it needs to be re-graded and drained while baseball does not have that issue (besides left field).  School maintenance can’t regrade land.

Even Parker stands a puncher’s chance of launching one out.

In many cases, baseball and softball coaches maintain their own fields, especially the infields.

Sorry, I had to rant about the poor field conditions.  But this is a different Bracken County program that most people know from 2005-2015, and they deserve better.

Here is the offensive lineup:

LT - Kyler Burton
LG -Landon Gray
C - Landynn Combs
RG - Harvey Napier
RT -Jackson Whitten

QB- Greg Benedict
RB1 - Daulton Tarter
Rb2- Lucas McKinney
Wide Receivers - Andrew Kirk, Ryland Tucker, Jordan Bravard.

Losing Caleb Emery on the offensive line really hurts, back I think they will be fine adding Jackson Whitten there.

Career rushing yards in Bracken County history.

The football field and stadium could certainly use some TLC...but the view of the sun setting from the football field is one incredible view.  Hoping the Polar Bears have a great season. Those kids have been working hard since last year. I would love to see Burton and Whitten line up next to each other from time to time...SHEESH those are some big strong mammals!!! Tarter behind those two...stop it ?, may not be fair to some of their opponents.
