"There are so many things that I wanna say but, I’ve grown a lot over the years. I will just say that Paris will always be home and the place where I started my coaching journey. This community took a shot on me and my staff and I hope we made yall proud. I have loved every one of my kids that have called me Coach, and have served them with everything in me. And will continue to do so. I have put this job before friendships, relationships, finances, and family. But it will never come before my kids. At this point in my life, love, respect, peace, and support is the only thing that matters to me. You can’t put a price on that. I will certainly miss, those Blanton Collier lights. #Greyhounds"

 

Who does Paris call on to lead the next chapter of Greyhound football???

I'm shocked. Thought Coach Rice had Paris heading in the right direction. Hopefully whoever replaces him continues the success.

Definitely, a huge shock here. Coach Rice had Paris on the right track and was the guy that I felt like would get them over the hump. It takes time in these places and people want microwave results. I hope he was able to leave on his own terms. 

I will be following this hire to see who they get.  Anyone have any names of possible candidates?

Any updates on aa time table or possible name?

I know their admin team has been working on this, but I don't know the timeline.  The orange and black is beyond special. That was true 100 years ago, and believe it will be true 100 years from now. At least I sure hope so.

I eager to hear who they may gets. What’s the percentage they hire in house?

I think this will be a pivotal hire for the Greyhound program. Not only with the departure of staff but also athletes. Already a 1A program is hard enough but losing kids to the “Bigger” school is also hard. I hope to see the Paris administration make a big hire to keep this program alive. 

I suggest returning to someone who has saved the program a couple of times. This person has just won a state title as an assistant coach and spent the last few years learning from a successful Coach. The man for the job is Boo Washington. Paris product that has been successful at Paris two different stints. I say bring him back so he can take advantage of the facility upgrades and use of knowledge he has gained the last couple of years of helping build Sayre into a Class A Champion. 

Looks like Paris has named Dane Damron Head Football Coach - per the Paris High School Facebook account.
