10th Region: Week 3

Hello 10th region enthusiasts! This week's update is a bit brief as I'm heading out of town to visit family. As much as I enjoy keeping you all informed, I love them more than you! 

It was another exciting week in the 10th region, with many of our teams participating in various holiday showcases, and their performances were nothing short of impressive. Campbell County traveled to Johnson Central and holds a record of 2-0, with another game scheduled for Sunday that could allow them to maintain their winning streak. George Rogers Clark (GRC) hosted the WinCity Holiday Classic and finished with a perfect 2-0 record in the event, showcasing their ability to defend their home court successfully. Montgomery County competed in the Gateway Holiday Classic, holding a current record of 1-1. Like Campbell County, they also have a Sunday game.

A notable point of interest is the situation with Montgomery County's Cayden Reed, as I've heard not significant update on his eligibility status. The lack of news is concerning and might imply challenges ahead for him and the team.

Looking beyond the holiday showcases, the post-holiday games promise to bring even more excitement. I highly recommend checking out the Mason County Invitational. This event features a diverse lineup of teams, including Owen County, Bracken County, Campbell County, WEB DuBois, Augusta, Bourbon County, Adair County, and Mason County. This invitational offers a mix of big and small schools, providing a great opportunity to see a variety of talent from both inside and outside the 10th region.

Not 100% sure on the Reed situation but I think he was ruled ineligible to start the season but should be eligible at whatever the date was he played his last game at Mason Co. It looks like his last game was 1/23 against East Jessamine. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

That's more info than I've known. I knew there were dates to review an appeal from the Reeds, but when I never heard how that went, I figured he was still ineligible. 

The eligibility being a legitimate calendar year would make sense vs him missing an entire season.

I thought I had read this somewhere as well.  With his 1st game being eligible after the 1 year being Montgomery County vs Mason County at The Fieldhouse.

It is at Fleming County on January 25.
