I re-read the entire thread, spindoc - and I don't see any posts where anyone is "hacking on" Rose Hill. LRCW's original post ended with a question asking if anyone could confirm. After that, it appears to be nothing more than a series of posts that, effectively, are repeated requests for clarification.

I tried calling RickyP, but got no response, and I also pm'd another Royal faithful who I trust very much that could neither confirm or deny whether this was the truth or not.

I was referring to my favorite genius only, I took no offense to the others. I would like to know how that rumor started though. Since it shouldn't have come from someone who was in attendance, because Coach Fraley is a hard guy to hide.

Coaches have 80% and assigning secretary has 20% on the ratings. Basketball is different from other sports Big Slick. Coaches do have a major say.

I believe you Jay, but you gotta admit the same faces are there every year. I would also say that scratches have something to do with some situations, but no big deal, its mostly right and the finals are usually the best officials or close to it. Hopefully more up and coming officials will stay involved and work their way up the ladder and some new ones, quality officials are always needed.

I find it very odd that we are posting some results from the officials ratings. That information was supposed to be kept tight. The school's are the first to be notified of each officials ratings, not BGP or any other outside source.

 

District assignments are then made in about a week or less of the actual games..those are often kept tight until the last minute as well.

I agree, this should not be public knowledge. I seriously doubt that the leaked ranking are the accurate rankings. The more ears the news travels through, the less accurate the news. But it's not hard to figure out who will be calling the tourney, the same officials every year with maybe an addition here and there. I could probably name every official without ever seeing the rankings.

Football is the same way, 80% of the ratings comes from Coaches and 20% comes from Assigning Secretary and Evaluators. The difference in football is the fact that the officials are never shown the Coaches ratings. It enables the Assigner to rate and rank officials where ever he wants them. It's a shame because good officials suffer because the Assigner wants to play politics. It's something that needs to be changed, the officials are entitled to see the coaches ratings. The names on the coaches ratings are not important, just show the ratings. Sorry to ramble and get off subject but I feel pretty strongly about this matter.
