Barren County Trojans (8-2) | Henderson County Colonels (4-6)

? The Trojans’ season has been anything but barren. It's bore the fruit of the program's winningest season in nearly thirty years and just their second winning record this century.

They'll take all of those good vibes - including last week's nail-biter over Allen County-Scottsville - on the road to Henderson County for a date with the battle hardened Colonels.

Hendo has faced almost every powerhouse WKY has to offer this year - Paducah Tilghman, Mayfield, South Warren, O-Cath, and Owensboro. All ended in defeat, but most were competitive.

Has that schedule sharpened the Colonels to a razor's edge, one destined to cut Barren County down to size?

Series History ?: Henderson County leads 2-0 since 1998 | The most recent meeting was a 48-0 rout by the Colonels in 2022 first round

Nice write up @DevilMayCare !

Ill have to roll with Hendo in this one. But you have to appreciate the direction John Myers has Barren County heading as a program.

I’m going with HC even though I would love to see Barren win. I think Barren’s lack of playoff success is the reason however most of that is because they had bad teams.

Eight Barren County Trojans made the All-SKY Conference Large School team.

1st Team Offense
RB - Daylan Thomas
OL - Ryan Harrison
TE - Jaxson Byrd

2nd Team Defense
DL - Colton Thomas
DL - Brayden Houchens
DB - Tate Spillman

2nd Team Defense
LB - Waylon Clemmons
Specialist - Brey Bewley

I have seen both teams this season. Henderson County will win the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and RB Anthony Burrus should have a big night for the Colonels.

IKR!

Anthony Burrus breaks one 59 yards for the Hendo touchdown.

21-14 Trojans

8:58 4Q

Still 21-14 BC.

1:53 remaining

Barren County with the ball, trying to milk the clock.

Barren with a 4th and 2 at its own 45.

Two yards and they ice the game. Or do they kick to Hendo?

They'll have to kick it now following an illegal procedure.

It'll be Hendo ball from its own 23.

:47 to go

Colonels turn it over and Barren kneels on it to win, 21-14.

Barren proved the doubters wrong!
