The playoffs begin today with 4 games:

In the afternoon games in the AL the wildcard teams got the wins.

Tigers defeat the Astros 3-1

Royals defeat the Orioles 1-0

Through 6 innings the Mets lead the Brewers 8-4

The Braves and Padres first pitch is just after 8:30pm

Orioles have now lost, I think, 9 straight post season games. Not filled with optimism for the rest of the series.

The trend continues with the Mets defeating the Brewers in Milwaukee 8-4.

Padres get 2 runs in the bottom of the first and led the Braves 2-0.

Padres now led 3-0 through 3 1/2 innings.

Let's hope San Diego can close it out because Michael King pitched an amazing 7 innings.

Padres take game 1 against Atlanta, 4-0.

The Padres was the only home team to win in the 4 games today.

I LOVE seeing the Astros lose, it does my heart well.

Detroit 5 (2-0)

Houston 2

Buh-bye Astros!!!!

A lot of the "expert writers" has Houston in the WS.  I guess now they'll revert to the other lazy pick of the Yankees.

Bye-Bye Orioles as well defeating the Balitmore 2-1. The Orioles have now lost 10 straight post season games. Unreal!!

The Royals who lost 106 games last year is the first team to make playoffs after losing 100+ games the year before and now they move on to the divisional series.

I for one will be rooting for the Royals on Sat. when they travel to New York to take on the Yankees.

Outside of San Diego, home teams just can't seem to win.   Mets up 2-1 on Milwaukee.  Granted it's early (2nd inning)

Now 3-1 Mets in the top of the 3rd.

The Brewers get a run in the bottom of the 5th and cut the Mets led to just 1 run at 3-2.
