Warren East and Greenwood travel to Barren County for a neutral site match up. The Gators steamrolled the Raiders in this match up last season by a score of 38-6.

There is quite a few new faces with this Gator group, and with their battle against Hopkinsville last week it had to give East some optimism going in to this week that they can compete. We will probably see a heavy dose of Parsley and McCool for WE to try and test the physicality of Greenwood early. The Gators will likely be of the same tune, trying to take the battle straight to the Raiders on the ground.

I think Greenwood is probably favored here, but I believe East has potential to pull a mild upset if they can be consistent on offense.

What say you?

I'm going with the Raiders in a mild upset!

The lone 6 points the Raiders put up last season were off a Mello Meade KOR for the score. In saying that he’s suiting up for the Gators this time around, losing some explosion is never a positive. Greenwood held Parsley and company to nothing at all in that game and it was very lopsided in the trenches on both sides of the ball and it’s likely we’ll see something similar to that again. For the Raiders to have a chance I’d need to see the OL hold up just enough for Parsley to get Miller and Lightfoot the ball in space and get in a shootout, the Gators won’t allow Parsley to beat them on the ground. Defensively is still an unknown for the kids in blue and gold, the question remains, can the front 7 halt the running game Greenwood will deliver?

38-14 Greenwood wins.

While Christian Co is struggling as of late so did Hopkinsville last year that being said I think Warren East’s win was more impressive than Greenwood so I’m going with the Raiders in a close one.

Muffed KOR fumble for the Raiders, Gators get the ball at the 1 and punch it in for 6. PAT good.

7-0 Greenwood 11:51 1Q

Quick answer from the Raiders, Parsley hits a strike over middle for a 77 yard TD to Diego Monge. 2 Pt conversion good.

8-7 East 10:33 1Q

Another TD pass for Parsley this time to Brayden Lightfoot. 2 pt conversion no good.

14-7 Raiders 7:14 1Q

14-7 Warren East at the half.

A lot of punts and turnover on downs the last quarter and a half after a quick start for both teams.

Gators get the ball after half, should be in for a good finish.

Parsley with the 12 yard TD. PAT good.

21-14 Raiders 4:25 4Q

21-14 Warren East, big win for the Raiders!

Final.
