I wouldn't do this if I were the Reds. Plus there really isn't much to the story based on that website. It just threw it out there. Also what if the Reds were to trade for Todd Helton. I know his salary is bigger but he may be a good fit in red.

The D-backs didn't have much offense. I also said that if they trade Dunn they should try to acquire a good offensive player.

185/561 is per at bat. I like Dunn. I like him a lot. However, he has several glaring weaknesses that would be much better suited for the American League. I also don't understand why he can't make contact more often. It gets old fast when he's in a slump. You can expect Kearns to hit 25-30 HR's bat 270-280 and get 80-90 runs and ribby's (if he's healthy) and the Reds deemed him unaffordable. I thought he was a phenomenal defender too. He also hit some ground balls and used both sides of the field. He wasn't great, but he'd be cheaper than Dunn. I hope that Dunn becomes the player I thought he could be 3 years ago, but I haven't seen any signs of growth or improvement. If anything, he's slower and seems to go in more slumps.

If you're going to measure how often the man strikes out, its disingenuous to not include his plate appearances that resulted in a base on balls. He stuck out 28% of the time he came to the plate. If you don't look at it that way, you're then going to say the guy can't hit if he comes up 4 times and walks 3 times.

Actually my math was skewed because it didn't factor walks. It wasn't wrong. 40%-28% is not even close to 30.

Well, off the top of my head no one, but I'm sure there is someone. My problem is the Reds have had this great hitting team for 3 or 4 years now and they haven't been getting any close to making the playoffs till this year when they gained in pitching and lost some hitting (Kearns). You can't make the playoffs when you score 10 runs and game but give up 11 runs a game, so lets try scoring 4 or 5 runs a game and giving up 2 or 3 that might work. IMO
