theguru Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 The Reds come in at 18-25 and in last place. The Dodgers are 29-15 and in 1st place in the NL West. 1
16thBBall Fan Posted May 16, 2024 Posted May 16, 2024 The Reds have lost 12 of their last 14 games, now last place in the division. Worst record in the league in 1-run games (1-10). 1
Voice of Reason Posted May 17, 2024 Posted May 17, 2024 Of course, facing one of the best pitchers in the NL, the offensively challenged Reds put up 7 runs to win game one of the series 7-2. 1
mcpapa Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Good guys drop games 2 and 3; 7-2 and 4-0. Try to get the split today. 1
Jumper_Dad Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 This is kinda crazy. Looking at this plus injuries and there could be some better days ahead as starters return and the schedule eases up some.
OlDog75 Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 I realize the first half schedule is tough, but I did not expect Reds to be in this position at this point even with the injuries.
Voice of Reason Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 Relying on young players at the heart of your team is a roll of the dice. Had Elly at the plate two different times late in the game with runners at 2nd and 3rd and he struck out. Steer also up in one of those situations and couldn't get the key hit needed, although he worked a walk after fouling off 3 or 4 pitches that he should have crushed. He actually did crush one but pulled it foul.
