I think the biggest issue with Kentucky this year is holding players accountable. 

With the current NIL and Portal world we live in, I think coaches are so worried about keeping players from season to season, they don't hold players accountable they way they would have in the past. 

It's came out that players aren't practicing hard, aren't studying film or the game plan the way they should and aren't working in the weight room the way they should. The team seems to have a sense of entitlement that they have in no way earned.

Haven’t heard anything about players not working hard or taking film sessions for granted, or lacking in the weight room, where has these accusations arisen?

It was brought up on KSR this week. Ryan is very close to a few players.

Players have made those comments about teammates.

After SC loss one of the players said they weren't focused and working hard the way they should have all of the time.

I think this overall thought has been floating around all season.

When you have a player that refuses to tie his shoes and has had to come out of a game several times because of it and he still refuses. So you just have the training staff tape his shoes on for me tells you all you need to know!

That's pretty weak IMO. Guys that just point the finger and complain about others not working hard are part of the problem. Teammates are also responsible for holding each other accountable. Also, this is a recruiting issue. If you don't recruit the right kind of guy AND you don't have the depth to push slackers out of a job, this is the sort of thing that happens.

If players aren't listening to teammates or don't want to be led, sometimes you have to call them out to get their attention. 

Portal is killing depth, because a lot of guys want to transfer if they aren't the #1 coming out of the spring. Leaving 3's and 4's as the backups. Recruiting depth is getting harder and harder in college football. 

I'm not making excuses, it just is what it is. Coaches need to figure out how to navigate today's players.

I don't disagree with any of that, and what I think we agree on, is that it's the coaching staff that is responsible for setting that tone, and creating the right atmosphere where everyone is holding each other accountable. I just think that players pointing the finger at others behind the scenes is kind of weak and just further contributes to the problem.
