I've heard this about dairy from several different sources over the years. It's been noted we are the only animal that regularly drinks milk from another animal (whether it's cow, goat, etc), and that dairy is the top source of saturated fat in the American diet. I suppose it's like anything else, and can effect different people in different ways, and should be consumed in moderation. I've never been a big dairy guy, outside of my school days when I had chocolate milk with every lunch. About my only dairy intake is yogurt a few times a week.

I wish I could say the same! A lot of my intake is dairy. I love pizza. Then the iced cappuccinos from Tim Horton's, although lately I have been switching to oat milk, coconut milk, etc. and then going to places like Texas Roadhouse that put a lot of butter on their rolls.

Just to test it, I tried eating some dairy late last week. Sure enough, the OCD started to come back.

I plan to eat it from time to time, it's just going to have to be, like you said, in moderation.

Been struggling to carry out like I hoped to. But this DDP Yoga....it definitely helps. Burning a ton of calories with it, I'm talking about 400 calories in right under 25 minutes of working out. And hardly any stress on the joints. The bad thing, is I am still yet to reclaim my rhythm that I had this year before my coworker passed. I did so good in that stretch - even a day where I would go off, I could just go back on the next day and it resulted in a loss of 33 pounds. If I can find a way to get back on that, combined with DDP Yoga, it would get the job done.

In May of last year I had my 4th Pulmonary Vein Ablation (PVA) to address a-fib that was persistent.  It seemed to work finally and after that I committed to dropping the pounds.  I went from around 2

RE: Dairy.

I had a doctor friend once tell me it is not a matter if you are lactose intolerant, it is to what degree you are lactose intolerant. Personally, I had a lot more stomach issues while running when I was a high milk drinker. I seldom consume milk (I do a cup of almond milk with my smoothie 3-4 days a week), but I am not necessarily anti-dairy as I regularly eat Greek yogurt.

That makes sense, that we all could be lactose intolerant to a degree with some handling it stronger than others. Glad that you were able to eliminate milk! That was hard for me, with the Granitas I enjoy from a new coffee shop that opened up locally, the Human Bean.

What is surprising, Bugatti, at least that I have found, is just how many dairy-free options are available like you mentioned with almond milk. Oat milk, coconut milk, macadamia, soy milk, all kinds of options on the board and these exist at Tim Horton's (Where I get iced cappuccinos a lot) as well. Lately I have gone to the oat milk. Pretty friendly on Weight Watcher points too.

Still haven't lost a lot. It was tough last week with a road trip, and instead of using it as a crutch I should have done a better job prepping for it.

On the better end, my flexibility is improving tremendously with this DDPYoga. It's quite fascinating. It's not really yoga in a lot of ways. It's more calisthenics. One of the things he highly recommends is getting a heart monitor. My heart rate averaged around 124 for the full workout yesterday, which was in the recommended range. It's a win-win in terms of the impact on the body. My muscles are so shaky today, but I amazed at the development of them and also am so much more flexible than before starting the program. The nice thing about it is that you're standing in place or laying down the whole time and there is zero impact on your joints.

Currently this is the hardest time to diet with the Holidays.  To the ones trying to lose weight for 2024 I say these 2 months (November and December) just try to maintain weight and not worry about losing and go at it hard on January 1, 2025.  Keep fighting it can be done but you GOT TO WANT IT!

I've battled with my weight my entire life.  January 1, 2010 I decided to change my life as I was 310 pounds with severe asthma.  I went on my own version of the Atkins Diet and lost over 100 pounds the 2010 year.  2011 I continued on and lost another 25 pounds.  I started exercising and running and can say it saved my life.  Today I've ran over 8,000 miles the past 10 years and ran over 50 half and full marathons now at the age of 60.  My asthma is a non issue any longer.  I will say keeping the weight off is 10X's harder than losing the weight.  If you want it bad enough it can be done with no operations, weekly shots, or pills.  Just hard work!   I'm no expert and done this all on my own.  If anyone ever needs to talk, I will gladly help anyone anyway I can.

It's a coincidence everything came together close to the new year, but I have said publicly to mark it down - 100+ pounds to come off this year. We are going to win, and we are going to win big. Five days in and I'm down 4.4 already which is nice considering I haven't done my first full workout yet. No major changes to my plan, just my mindset and a boatload of accountability measures.

Wins:

7.6 pounds down

Winter jacket fit today which I did not expect this soon.

We've hit double digits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 11.0 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Continuing that momentum. 19.8 pounds right now and 13 total inches!
