These dudes are supreme athletes and probably many of them kicked when they were in high school because they were capable enough.

I'm old enough to remember George Blanda who played for UK and then 5 different NFL teams (most notably the Oakland Raiders).  He was a QB and a placekicker.  He holds numerous records for both positions and for  longevity playing the game.
