Trinity (7-3) will host Meade County (5-5) in the first round of the KHSAA Class 6A Playoffs. Trinity is coming off an open week. Meade County is coming off a 43-20 loss to Bullitt East.

They last played in 2014 with Trinity winning 48-0.

Calpreps Ratings:

Trinity 50.2

MC 9.5

Can Meade County pull the upset or does Trinity roll into a most likely 2nd round matchup with St. X?

At least it’s a relatively short trip home.

Running clock.

Putting Meade County in District 3 was a travesty. The move by the KHSAA to put Meade County with ST. X, Manual, PRP and aligned with the Louisville schools in the first 2 rounds of the playoffs makes absolutely no sense!

This one will get ugly early. Meade County starting QB Cade Scott is gone for the season with an injury as well as starting RB Cruz Redmon.

If the KHSAA had any sense they would put this team back in District 2.

Not really sure if this qualifies as a trap game given the injuries, but I do think Coach Mofield could have brought a really decent team in here if not for losing his top two offensive players. His son looks like a solid ballplayer and the young linebackers are going to be a really strong base for that team in years to come.

Trinity looks like they are rounding into form and despite losing Morrow to suspension for the week, should be primed to make a deep run. To me, this will be a great tune up for Johnson and the offense to get a taste of playoff experience and really open things up. I was very impressed with JB Berry last week spelling Sansbury at RB and I look for Sasser, Scherer, and Ralston to get more touches despite Lynn being back at WR.

With the Xaverians looming in round two, this team must focus on the task at hand, learn from last week and not let things get too chippy, and execute to their fullest potential. Every game is a Super Bowl from here on out, both for the opponents but especially for these seniors looking to cement their legacy in St. Matthews as champions who overcame some dark days. ☘️

The redistricting probably hurt Meade Co. more than any team in the state. If they had been left in District 2 they would have won that district and been hosting Apollo tonight. Instead they get the prize of traveling to Trinity.
