8.5 miles separate these two district opponents.

Fern Creek is enjoying it's best start since 2015 when they went 9-1 in the regular season before falling to Bowling Green in the 5A state semi's.  They are led by Mykel Malone who has rushed for right at 800 yards and 12 rushing TD's on the season with an average of 154 per game.  Led through the air by Kaleb Passmore (great qb name) with 838 passing yards with 11 TD's and 4 INT's.

Bullitt East also stands at 5-1 with their only loss coming to PRP in week 2.  The Chargers are led by All purpose Sr. Jack Zwernemann.  Jack has thrown for 1272 yards with 16 TD's and 7 Int's.  He is also the teams leading rusher, rushing for 540 yards on the season with 7 TD's on the ground.

The winner will battle Male for the district title in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

Who do you like?

Creek has quietly put together a good season, but the schedule is lacking so far. The out-of-district portion was rolled back a bit. The only quality opponent they've seen is North Oldham. That game represents their one loss and it was all the way back in Week 1.

Hard to tell how much bite the Tigers really have. This week, I think they bite the Bullitt, so to speak.

I'll take the Chargers by at least a couple of scores.

BE should be able to put up points on Fern Creek.  The question will be if Fern Creek can run the ball on BE.  If they can keep their offense balanced, this will be a close game.  If they have to rely on the passing game because BE shuts down their run, it’ll be a long night for Fern Creek.  Regardless, these two teams tend to play each other closely, so I’ll go with:

BE - 27

Fern Creek - 14

Did not realize the schools were that close.  At least it will be a short trip home after BE wins.

14-0 BE at the half.

BE wins 14-6. Chargers worst outing since PRP loss. IMO of course.
