January 20, 200719 yr Maybe for some, not so for others...I know of at least two people that have had their shoulders scoped and were perfectly fine... I am perfectly fine too. I also go to the gym and have gone to the gym 4 or 5 days a week for a long time. Ask BAgwell about shoulders. Ask Pennington. Ask Richie Sexson. No shoulder surgery is as minor as you are making out. The minimal recovery time to compete in athletics is 4 months. When they cut your shoulder every muscle in your shoulder, chest, and back on that side basically shuts down. I am a "quick healer" and my surgery was pretty basic. The day after my surgery I walked (with my hand) all the way to the top and my PT said I was the first he's ever seen to do that so soon after surgery. Granted, a cleanup is a little less severe then what I had done, but cutting your shoulder isn't a small deal.

Brohm threw for 3,049 yards and 16 touchdowns last season despite injuring his left shoulder before the season began and aggravating it in Louisville's 24-13 win over Wake Forest in the Orange Bowl on Jan. 2. Team spokesman Rocco Gasparro said the surgery was "minor" and that Brohm will participate when the Cardinals begin spring practice.
