Barnburner In The Works For Mount Vernon

Records: Clay (5-0) | Rock (4-1)

Week 5 Results: Clay beat Leslie County | Rock lost to Paris

Series History: Rockcastle County leads 18-5 all-time

A Point A Minute: The Rockets and Tigers boast 3A's #1 and #2 scoring offenses. Rock's season low occurred last week in a 39-37 loss to Paris. They've topped 50+ in their other three games. Clay has hit 40+ in four of its five contests, with a season low of 36.

They could literally play this game on rocks or clay and still light up the scoreboard.

Quarterback Tate Rice is the trigger man for the Tigers, accounting for 285 yards of total offense per game and 23 touchdowns on the season. He ranks second in the state, regardless of class, in completion percentage (74.5%).

Rock's Tucker Warren is no slouch, with a touchdown to interception ratio of 14/1. The offense doesn't need to be on the field for the Rockets to score, as they've found the endzone six times in four games via defense and special teams.

Bump.

Rock rolls...47 to 34

Intrigued by this one. Both have played well to start with but Clay hasn’t really beat anyone good and Rock’s best opponent was the Paris team that beat them. I think Rockcastle wins but I like what Sizemore has done at Clay County.
