You saw GRC's coach say that. I don't know if anyone else is expecting that crowd, although I do believe the conditions are right for Thursday night to be the largest crowd of the event. I'm guessing it pushes 10,000 but I don't know about 15.

I'd be shocked if 15k show up on Thursday.  Shocked, I say.

A Frederick Douglass/Male, Lyon County/North Laurel set of quarterfinals on Friday night would likely be the biggest crowd, but competing against at 7pm UK game the same night would hurt that crowd.

Does anyone recall how many were at North Laurel's opening round last year? I remember a great crowd, but not the exact numbers. That game was also on a Wednesday I believe.

Thank you, I knew that I had seen it somewhere but couldn't remember who it was LOL.

Hmmm... would you rather watch this dysfunctional UK squad, or 2 hometown kids possibly (Sheppard committed, Perry is offered) going to UK square off against each other in the state tournament? I am not sure I know the answer to that one just yet.

The crowd was 12,206 last year against Pikeville. It was the late game on Wednesday, following Perry County Central/GRC.

I've already got tickets for Friday night, so you know where I'll be, but I suspect many people will choose UK over the state tournament (and I wouldn't blame them).

I think Sheppard is already having a better game than his first showing last year at Rupp. Already has 10 in the 2nd and 13 of the Jags 17 for the game. 

Sheppard now has 16. 

27-20 GRC with under a minute to go in the second. Media timeout. 

I sure wish there was a video of Sheppard and Morton's back-to-back dunks, the announcers were electric. 

Someone has to help Sheppard out.

That is the way it seems. I am not in attendance but over the radio broadcast it sounds like its him on both ends of the floor. Maybe one or two rebounds/blocks from Davidson but other than that it seems to be all Sheppard.
