I guess I just got enamored with F1 and haven't come back.

I watch the Trucks and Xfinity races too so the new faces blend right in to me.  Also, this year NASCAR is doing away with cautions at the end of the stages on Road Races so that was a plus.  Overall it has been a pretty good year so far and I enjoy it, but not as much as I enjoy F1. ?

Kyle Larson won at Richmond and Kyle may be the single best race car driver on the planet considering what he does on so many levels.  A late caution helped Josh Berry (filling in for Chase Elliott) to finish second.  Berry's crew chief gambled by staying out hoping for a late caution and they got it.  Chastain finished 3rd, Bell 4th, and Harvick finished 5th.  It was a good day of racing.

The Trucks and Cup cars race on the dirt this coming weekend in Bristol. 

Christopher Bell won on the dirt at Bristol.  Tyler Reddick was second, Austin Dillion third, Ricky Stenhouse Jr fourth, and Chase Briscoe fifth.  This was a definitely a different top five than we are used to seeing and it was nice to see a dirt track racer win on the dirt.

It was Talladega week Ricky Bobby!  Some late rate crashes put Rowdy Busch in a position to win the race and the two time champ delivered. 

This is all worth a watch but go to about the 250 mark if you want to see a world class t-bone:

The improvement in safety of Nascar never ceases to amaze me. That kind of impact and they walk away is unreal to me. 

This is the finish, the whole thing is good but at about the 1 minute mark you will see the final crash and Busch getting through clean for the win.

I agree although had that been on the drivers side I think that could have resulted in death or serious injury.

I had the same thought. Actually, it happened so quick, I went back and watched to see which side took the impact. 

Denny Hamlin bumped Kyle Larson out of the way to win this week in Kansas but the best part of the race was Noah Gragson (29th) and Ross Chastain (5th) after the race.  Check out that quick right hand by Chastain:

 

Martin Truex Jr. won at Dover last week and Martin's little brother Ryan Truex got his first Xfinity win at Dover last week.

Denny Hamlin won at Kansas. William Byron won at Darlington, and Kyle Larson won the All-Star race (and one million dollars) at North Wilkesboro. Larson did another full track burnout and he also won the Truck Race at North Wilkesboro.  From where I sit "Yung Money" is the best race car driver on the planet.

This is an entertaining thread.  I don't follow Nascar anymore, but appreciate the entertainment.  Like Rowdy Busch as he's always pushing peoples buttons.  Just a different kind of racing compared to F1 and Indy Car.

I wouldn't agree with you on Larson being the best race car driver on the planet, but if that's all we disagree on, it's a great day!

Is the Coca Cola 600 on Sunday?  I assume Larson is the favorite.  May listen to some of it coming back from Indy.

I would put Larson's resume up against any other driver on the planet but we both know there is no way to know for sure.

Rowdy is in the background a little more these days in my opinion.  Chastain is the new bad boy.

Yes on the 600 but no clue on the favorite.  I imagine the betting line has Larson as the favorite but in NASCAR there is no real favorite like Max is and Lewis has been in F1.
