Yes on the 600 but no clue on the favorite.  I imagine the betting line has Larson as the favorite but in NASCAR there is no real favorite like Max is and Lewis has been in F1.

Larson races all the time in multiple vehicles (outside of NASCAR) and beats everyone at their own game.  Also, and I don't know the answer, but outside of F1 do Lewis and Max race anything else?

They did some before they got there.  But I don't know all the ends and outs of it.

I'd like to see Larson across the pond with a decent car.  Just mid-field see what he could do.  I'm sure I'd be surprised.  I just think our boy Logan Sergent is just too young in a poor car to make any F1 waves for the USA.

Just can't see how his resume could stack up or beat Lewis Hamilton's.  7-time world champion (only the Great Michael Schumacher can say that), most wins, most pole positions and podium finishes.  When he won his first world title for McLaren he was the youngest to ever do so.  Plus call it like I see it.  He's the ONLY Black driver in F1 EVER.  There had to be hardships for him coming up being so. 

At 10 years old, he was the youngest driver to ever win the British cadet karting championship.  That's a Cut-throat league as you might imagine.  He won the Formula Renault UK series in 2003; the Fomula E Euro Series in 2005; and the GP2 series in 2006.  Those are all way lower feeder leagues for F1 but they are different kinds of cars.

While I do think others could have won World Championships when he has been at Mercedes; I don't think they could have won that initial one in 2008 with McLaren.  That season he had to make a pass on the last lap of the last race to win the championship.  The year before that in 2007, he missed the championship by 1 point to Kimi Raikkonen.

We can agree to pick our guys and move on, but few, FEW would get in the same conversation with Lewis Hamilton IMO.  But it's fun to speculate!

I think Larson is entering the Indy 500 next year.

On resume, I mean in cars/tracks/racing series outside of his primary NASCAR job.  Hamilton's experiences seem F1 centric to me.

Now we're talkin for Larson.  I'll certainly pay attention if he's in the 500 next year.

I have a LOT of respect for anyone who attempts the Double and I'll be pulling for him next year at both races!  LOT of effort and logistics to make that even possible, much less the demand on your body to do that!

Larson won the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series championship but he excellent in so many other series, especially dirt.  I assume Lewis would blow Larson away in F1 and Larson would blow Lewis away in NASCAR.  I am deriving best from everything else beyond F1 and NASCAR which is why I defended with F1 centric. 

They are two phenoms for sure.

Ryan Blaney won the Coke 600 last week and Kyle "Rowdy" Busch won the Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway yesterday giving him his 3rd win of the season.  I think both @Purple88 and I have to slow our roll on Kyle's demise.

Yeah, pretty huge effort for Rowdy.  He can still get it done.  Impressive.

Martin Truex Jr. won on the road course at Sonoma on 6-11 and last week was an off week.

NASCAR runs tonight at Nashville Superspeedway and if the Cup race is anything like the Xfinity race yesterday it should be eventful.

Ross Chastain won from the pole at Nashville Superspeedway.  Truex finished 2nd, Hamlin 3rd, Elliott 4th, and Kyle Larson 5th.

I like the Sonoma track.

Is the Nashville race today because it was postponed due to weather?

I have been to 3 Indy Car races at Nashville.  One was cancelled due to race; one postponed due to rain and the last one they called complete with about 20 laps to go due to lightning and eventual rain.

They ran the race yesterday, Chastain won, on to the Chicago Street Race.

Also, almost all of my "NASCAR buddies" don't care much for road races or street races.  While I think NASCAR may have too many of them on the schedule the Chicago Street Race was one of my favorite NASCAR races of all time.  I can't believe how good it turned out and I look forward to this one in the future.

I can see Dead Red NASCAR guys saying that.  They want the Big Ovals and grind it out left hand turn all day.  I think the Chicago race would be fun to attend.

Winning your inaugural race is REALLY impressive no matter the circumstance.  And an Aussie to boot.
