Heard that Carroll County and Owen County have outgrown the All A and may not be able to play in it next year. Also Walton Verona was close but is still in it. 
 

Can anyone confirm?

If somehow W-V would be on the wrong side of that number, the 8th would be down to just 4 teams.

I don't see how they would really know until the heads are counted for the 2023/24 school year.

The superintendents send in their enrollment KDE after the first two months of school.  By that time in 2023 it will be October and if a school is too big it would be too late to let them know.

I understand what you're saying, but that would also mean they were over this year.

I was informed that all 3; Carroll County, Owen County, and Walton-Verona were all out of the ‘A’ after this year. 
I really hope not, as it will drastically decrease the competition in future years. 
Over the last 10 years Owen County and Walton-Verona have dominated, and Gallatin County is a close 3rd winning multiple titles and making a ton of championship appearances at the regional level. 
If this is the case, it seems like Gallatin County should dominate it in the coming years, but anything is possible.

I have confirmation that Owen County is out of the All A next year.

The All A membership is healthy in the 14th region. Of the 16 schools in the 14th only 4 (Perry Central, Letcher Central, Estill County and Powell County) do not qualify for the All A. But unlike other sections of the state the mountain counties have lost a great amount of population since the All A began statewide in 1990. Owsley County has lost population to the point that the entire county’s residents could fit into Knott Central’s 5000 seat gym and still have 1000 empty seats.
