Covington Holy Cross 61 Owen County 31 (All A Classic Quarterfinals)

Featured Replies

The Indians went 10 deep and kept up the pressure. They were able to pull away in the second half.  I would love to know the record for most tie ups there had to have been at least 20

The Indian tribe rolls on with a commanding revenge win over last year's champ.

Can someone post the stats?

Hey everyone.  When there is any kind of issue with a thread on BGP please use the report a post feature, even if it is your own post.

Thanks!

Holy Cross' rebounding meister Julia Hunt (#2) eyes the prize.

I think the depth of the the Indians really made the difference in the game,  They trapped and were able to double team the ball the entire game.  From the stats Owen only really played six with four girls basically playing the entire game.  They played hard and just ran out of steam.  HC also was able to do this with Hunt sitting most of the game in foul trouble.  Next up Pikeville in the semi finals

Lady Rebel Zoe Webster (#11) begins the break upcourt.

Not sure I've ever seen a team win by 30 and be so thoroughly dominated on the glass.  That 50% clip from the arc certainly helped, as did Owen County's 28 turnovers...wow!!

I am not sure how jump balls are factored in to turnovers or if they are but I was told by someone listening on the radio that they said there were 27 jump balls.  I completely believe that number.  I have never seen anything like it.  Most of them were in Owen county's backcourt.  The full court defense by HC was tough.  Owen country struggled to get any sort of half court offense set up.
