Wheeler seems to be a lightning rod for a lot of fans, but he's played pretty well this season. He's not perfect, but he's also not the reason they've lost four games.

I honestly think he has had a really good year, except for the final two minutes of games. Which is partly Cal’s fault too. At the end of games Cal likes to take the shot clock all the way down, and then Wheeler tries to do too much and ends up forcing something. So people remember Wheelers troubles at the end of games, and makes it hard to see that overall he has done really well this year.

I would like to see Wallace be the one handling the ball more at the end of games.

I'd like to see that too, if we can ever trust him to make a free-throw.

It's bizarre considering how well he shoots the ball.

Here is the problem with Wheeler. When the ball hits his hands it sticks. He wants to dribble, dribble and drive and be a one man offense generator. Cal even mentioned in a post game press conference recently that the ball needs to keep moving on offense and that is not Wheeler's game.

Yep. And teams know to cut off any passing lanes and the offense becomes inept. I am encouraged by the recent shooting he has displayed, but I have doubts that will be a season long trend from here. Hopefully I am wrong!

The reality is teams will be fine letting Wheeler hoist up 5+ threes a game, even if he knocks them down at a 50%+ clip. His value comes as a playmaker and setting up teammates.
