You know Douglass will stay my game 1 unless we end up in the same district. It will good for everyone. It will give the other schools the opportunity to build their programs.

Right, your program is to the point where you shouldn't avoid anyone.  My only caveat would be not to overschedule with too many "heavy hitters" like Trinity does with their schedule.  I think it is fine for Trinity and maybe a couple of other schools but that is it.

I think a bunch of KY teams feel FD has some unfair advantages.....

No different than how some feel about a lot of teams in Kentucky.

Fayette County public schools are responsible for creating a monopoly of talent for FCPS football. If you aren’t in their district, you gain nothing from playing them. 

Does station have some nice players? Sure. Their roster pales in comparison. 

 

With this rule change and the move to 6A, I am SURE Trinity/St.X/Male and all the schools in the GCL will be more than willing to play. 

Is there state precedent in relation to the Carter G Academy? It allows them to get any player in Lexington not in their district, and the students aren’t even required to remain in the academy.

I'm sure too, as a matter of fact, most of them will be licking their chops wanting to play FD.  However, like I mentioned above, Douglass needs to proceed with caution as they step into the big boy arena.

I'd look at Bullitt East, one of the privates, Male/Ballard/Manual. At this point, you HAVE to dive into the 502 mix, and learn how to strategize against them. 

I'd say teams in Central KY have a Plan A. Because of the elite competition between the Big 3, 502 teams seem to have Plan A, B, and sometimes a C! Gotta get accustomed to that quick!

To be fair though. Before Douglass' existence, Lafayette had a strong 3 year run. I don't know if FCPS has ever tried to aggregate talent at any one school as far as I can tell.
