I did too lol. If I remember right they had a huge lineman named Chester Ford.

I know his name as well lol I could tell you what he said to Murray’s Head Coach Rick Fisher as he walked off the field but I know cussing isn’t allowed lol 

In 2008 I was at Bullitt East. We had a 'loooong' scoring drive with less than two minutes to go to pull within 2. Bell county was a huge favorite. We had to get the two point conversion to tie for overtime. It failed.  Heartbreak!!  It was amazing to see BE go for two this year and get the win.  Fast forward to 2018 at Franklin-Simpson. With a couple minutes or so Johnson Central went down the field pretty fast to get within 2 points of tying up the game and going into overtime. We stuffed them on the sweep and held on to win the championship for the second year in a row. That is also the game we had many people confused when we used a field goal formation for our punt. We were so bad long snapping for punt in the semi finals that I did some checking and decided a field goal snap was our only chance to not lose the game because of punt snaps. Great battles. 

I was a cheerleader the first time Beechwood went down state in 1974, dating the guard who I would eventually marry.  We lost. 10 years later, my brother was on the 84 team.  It was the second time Beechwood went to state and the first win.  My youngest brother was on that team.  He has never let my husband forget who won state and who didn’t.

My favorite memory would be the 2006 1A final between NCC and Danville. Danville just had to get the first down on 3rd and 1 and the ball game was over. The QB/Center exchange was botched, NCC fell on it and scored on a long screen pass to win the game. 

I commented on another thread but that was the game that ended the Danville dynasty.  Sam Harp was never the same after that loss IMO and Danville only got to the state semis one more time in his tenure.  I remember listening to the game on the radio and those last 8 minutes where the Ads coughed up a big lead were the stuff of nightmares.
